Beautiful story. I love the way you gave the background of her various pieces. I also love the ending and her drawing of their hands together.

I LOVE the way you wrapped this up - and not just because you cleared the decks for them to be together. You end up basically giving us a tour of their entire relationship from first meeting to first real date. Her discovering herself in that exact same spot from the lunch and actually doing what she vowed to do... and then him remembering it? Too sweet.

And her letting him know she loves him through a sketch is VERY appropriately JAM.

This is brutal... but also REALLY clever - and I like that the emotion attached to these things is starting to show up in not just her selection of subjects, but also in the paintings themselves.

Ugh. Roy is just so wildly insensitive here, here when he's trying his best.

But I really like this backstory for the flowers.

I love how *happy* she is about the teapot, and their banter combined with their underlying conscious and unconscious longing for each other. This sort of repeated pattern of these things that she feels connect her to Jim getting destroyed feels very Season 3-appropriate.

There are some really great individual lines in this: " Her things always seemed to fit intermingled with his things", "It seemed like an omen at the time, but she’s starting to wonder if Dwight has a thing against her coffee mugs."

Wow - I didn't make the connection until this came up in random story that the WildBerryJam in the shoutbox was THAT WildBerryJam - should've realized you might be looking for an older work! Nice to see you're still around!

I love what you've done to give Pam's pieces in Business School a little more context. Her pure glee at the Jello prank was really charming, and the way this sketch ends up walking us through the tensions of that love triangle and sparking Pam's comment in the pilot.

But really, Pam - forget the symbolism. This is a GLARING red flag, girl. Run before he, I don't know, starts tearing up a bar or something.

Lovely, lovely story.  I loved that Jim remembered what Pam said about painting the building and how Pam finally told Jim.  How's that for courage, Gil???  ;-)

Oh, I love it WBJ! You have so many great details in here-- my favorite being the ham & cheese sandwich thing. Very clever! And it just adds a whole new dimension to the fact that Jim started eating tuna in Stamford.

this was.... amazing. It was sad and happy and everything. I felt so sorry for Jim at the beginning (best first date also his worst), and then Pam and the rain and then the end with the picture, and....

great/amazing/everything else. and a possible sequel = there better be!

Aww! This was very creative! I loved the inspirations to Pam's art. They are now canon in my mind. Sequel? You don't even have to ask, haha! Please write it!

Very nice, WildBerryJam.  I love the paragraph describing the sketch, and just the general idea that the watercolors at the art show had more meaning than they seemed to.

I love this.  How you manage to make her painting have meaning is amazing.  I love the image of Jim & Pam talking for an hour and comparing Christmas stories.  Just seems so...them.

I love the backstory on each of the seemingly simple, innocuous items Pam included in the art show. I'm just a little sad anticipating that after all the thought Pam put into her selections, given the significance of these pieces, that the one person (Jim) for whom they would mean as much doesn't even get to see them at the art show...that we know of. Hmm....

Looking forward to more!

I love this because I think most people saw Pam's art as uninspiring or boring - but your story makes it so that there is actual meaning behind it.  I love it.

i am enjoying this (even with having to rereadsome of the ends hehe). I love how everything is a special meaning. Makes it so much more special

Author's Response: thanks, you might want to double check because I've been having issues with the newest chapter too. For some reason it cuts off my ending part of the chatpers whenever I copy/paste into the story text area. I apologize for the issues and hope you all can understand! Glad you liked it!

Oh my God. I just came here to post more or less the same fic. Hahaha! Different meanings, but same idea. Whoops, never mind. Anyway, I like yours! Awesome work! I'm dying to read the rest.

Author's Response: Well I still want to read your idea! thanks for the comments and the rest will be up soon. Don't let me stop you from posting your idea!

It’s not quite the same as it used to be.

Oh, how heartbreaking that line was :) I'm glad you decided to write about what Pam's art means--it all seems so Jim-inspired!  And I love the fact that Jim did the jello-stapler prank just to make Pam happy!

I love it. I would feel so totally broken inside if coffee was spilled over that painting.
i like the idea that all the paintings have something special about them, that jim would have noticed, remembered, thought about, if he had shown up

Ok, I'm BEGGING you to continue this.  Seriously, like on my knees.  I'm going to just take this as canon... now everytime that I see Roy I'm going to think "you're the jerk who spilled coffee all over Pam's cool stapler drawing... grr"
