Bittersweet-- like coffee!

Agh! Karen! Again with the timing. Ouch. Such a great condensation of the entire damn relationship--or lack thereof. And I loved the "This must be how Kelly feels" line!
Minor quibble: As she walked into the ladies room It took me a second to figure out which "she" you meant. I think identifying her as Karen since it's a new paragraph would be a bit more clear. But really, very minor because I honestly enjoyed this story so much.
Author's Response:
Thanks belsum! Jim and Pam have always been about bad timing but if they keep trying, maybe they'll get it right eventually! But they're not drinking anymore decaf, that's for sure.

Loved it. Seems like something Pam could do - have a conversation about her feelings without actually discussing. Great job.
Author's Response: It's almost like they talk in code on the show anyway, right? Thanks flamingos!

He was careful not to broadcast what he was thinking but she was angry that pity seemed to be in the mix.
Ouch. Because, yes. Of course. This is a gorgeous snap-shot of FNB realizing that she needs something new, but not everything new. Love this!
Author's Response: Yes! FNB needs to get angry on the show. She has to get riled up about something soon - maybe even take a chance on something! Thanks m'dear.

Wow, see, these two talk in ways that they don't really say what they are saying, but you can tell what they are really saying. and that is a horrible sentence. but good story.
Author's Response: Hee! Thanks Emily. Someday they might even say something meaningful to each other that's actually what they're thinking and feeling. Maybe!

Coffee and Jim - two of my favorite things.
It’s just a poor substitute and really, what’s the point?
Exactly. Angsty, but hopeful too, because Pam seems to be realizing that she doesn't need to become an entirely different person to be worthy and Jim seems to be getting a clue, no? And, when Karen breezes in, why, I almost wanted to throttle her as much as I do in the show...of course she'd want decaf. Great detail. Now, if only those two lunkheads could have a convo like this, we could all stop obsessing and get some work done! (G. Daniels is single handedly ruining my career!) Well done as usual, you sneaky thing you.
Author's Response:
GD is single-handedly ruining your career? Wow! Don't let him do that to you! Fight the power! Seriously, it's all going to work out just fine and we'll look back on this angst and oh, how we will laugh. Really. I think. I hope!
And also, I love that you want to throttle Karen over the decaf. My work here is done! Thanks, my dear!

Bring back the Jim tea pot. We need more tea. Great job.
Author's Response: Thanks gotkona! Time to dump out that old pot of decaf!

Nicely done! Karen asking for a pot of decaf just made me flash on Katy adding 'Legally Blond' to her desert island list. Awesome.
Author's Response: A very apt comparison! So why does Jim keep choosing the wrong beverage?! Thanks for reading.

Hot beverage metaphors.
AWESOME.
Oh how I wish for even a veiled conversation between these two. Never have I seen two people more meant for each other with less of a clue.
Author's Response: Amen, hugs. Maybe they'll throw us a bone after we endure this damn hiatus thingy!

Coffee/tea, jim/roy...damn the metaphors! No, seriously...this was great. I loved the part about "this must be how kelly feels". So great.
Author's Response: Ah, the magic of metaphors! And I hate to rag on Kelly but if I worked with her I might seriously smack her. Thanks for reading!

Oh you angsty woman - what is it about you that keeps me hanging around?? You taunt us with the truth and the chance of something sweet, and the pull the rug out from underneath us! Tease! (But really, nice work. Even if it does BREAK. MY. HEART.!!!!!)
Author's Response: I am Angsty Annie to your Fluffy Felicia; yin to your yang. We go together like peanut butter and chocolate. You can't always have the happy ending you know! But thanks for reading even though I broke your heart!
