This was really, really lovely. You get this sense from them on the show that even though things are insanely awkward, and they're both so hurt and unsure, they would still do anything to help each other if need be, and you captured that feeling so well here.
Really loved the last bit of conversation, which was so touching and perfectly in-character.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you think the conversation was in character - it's hard to capture the way people really speak in writing, so I'm pleased you think it worked! Thanks for the review!

Beautiful and touching. It's nice to read some Jim/Pam friendship fic, especially: even if you never can get back to what you once had, even if this is all there ever is for you and Jim, that at least you still have this. I hope they'll work it out someday, but for now, I'm happy to read about Jim just being there for her. Thanks!
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! The root of what makes them so appealing to me is their friendship before everything else, so I'm glad you enjoyed this!

This is completely beautiful, and I love stories that are in second person narrative.
You hope to God that today isn't someday, and promise yourself that if she makes it through this you will paint her a picture of this, these taillights glowing in the falling dusk, the bright orange-red against the soft purple sky and the dark of the trees alongside the road.
You don't realize that you've turned off at a rest stop until Jim has opened your door and unbuckled your seatbelt, turning you towards him and cradling you gently against his chest as you sob. He strokes your hair, letting you cry, and the gentle scent of his detergent fills your nose.
The images of these two parts are so lovely and heartbreaking that I teared up over both of them, and since I was reading this at work, I really had to hide it!
Just amazing and brilliant.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! The image of the tailights is actually where the whole story came from, so I'm so happy it struck a chord with you! Thanks so much for the review!

I reread your story several times because it conveys a very comforting idea. One which I think most of us feel and you have put down very well. That despite everything that has happened between Jim and Pam, in and out of their control, they still have this very strong bond between them. I really enjoyed reading this. And let's face it, chocolate does makes everything better.
Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for the review!

I like this Jim, and I wish our Jim would (could) be more of a friend to Pam, especially now. I hope to see this for real as the season progresses.
Author's Response: We can only hope! I'm confident they both have it in them, though. Thanks for the review!

that is just so sweet. it isn't romantic, it is just sweet and friendly. and in that way its romantic.jim is just perfect, i fear.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the review!

Okay, so I'm selfish, and I would like more. I know you said it was complete, but Too Late Kev is being honest and asking for what she (yes, she) wants. Umm... if you want to be a fanfic writer, you have to do fanfic writer things. Give the people what they want. More chapters, please!
Author's Response: I'm so pleased you liked it so much! Unfortunately, this is where this one ends. Thanks for the review though!

He is a calming force isn't he?
Author's Response: On his good days, anyway! Thanks for the review!
