I really enjoyed this. I continue to think back a chapter or two to the (thought not said) line "I'm sorry you misinterpreted our night of fucking" (probably loosely quoted). Cracks me up.
I loved Jim's little speech to Roy. "Your call man." Perfect.

Author's Response: Thanks! I labored on the Jim-Roy confrontation more than anything in the story. I really tried to think how a clever, decent, brave guy (like our Jim) might deal with that situation.

Well, damn. This little fic had everything! I'm kind of in awe that you managed to fit so much in such a short story.
Also? "It is not often in one's life that one is simultaneously severely sleep deprived, high on love, fearing a violent physical attack, and fretful about seeing an ex, but such was Jim's state as he drove" just cracked me up. You had several lines that had me laughing so hard, I actually had to stop reading.

Nice job! I especially liked the insight into Roy's thoughts about Pam (he's really that uncomplicated, isn't he?) and Jim 'reasoning' with Roy while sitting atop his chest. Very cool.

Thanks so much! Jim's solution to the Roy dilemma was actually the part I was proudest of. The Halpert special is the move described in the story with the fingers/tongue combination.

Yes, there is demand. Dish it out; we can take it. My favorite parts? "...she was up against a wall. Roy was not on her mind." and Jim's thought "sorry if you misinterpreted..."
I do think that if/when these two actually hook up, there would be some pretty serious fireworks in the bedroom! Too bad we won't see them. But that's one of the many things to enjoy about fanfic.
