OMG, I need more!!! I hate cliffhangers!

Well, love where this one's going; I mean, three paragraphs in I knew I was going to love this. I love the strength of Pam's character, here; and I adore the painting she's painted for Michael, because I love that it's Pam, Jim, sometimes Jan, who really get him, who genuinely like him, and Pam's painting something for him.

I liked the mention of Toby, too. How it seemed like he was a little too nice, and how she was a little relieved when he left, and how he went Oh man, he is really going to love that, because that's a pretty Toby!statement, and I don't know whether he means that [with some grudging liking for Michael] or if that was laced with snark, but still.

And though I felt unbelievably bad for Karen, I was thinking yeah, leave. =P I liked her little tangent, though, because that is all so true - except I think I would've left earlier in that relationship. 

There were no Fillipellis in sight.? Seriously? That's how you're going to end the chapter? EEP. Get a move on, brokenloon, because I know I'm going to love the next chapter as much as I loved this one!

I knew this story was going into my favorites after reading the first 2 paragraphs!  I love how you've written Pam - how strong she is to go to work each day and face Jim and Karen - how she isn't giving in to her sorrow - how she is pouring herself into her art and how courageous she was to ask Jim to the art show. I thought Jim and Karen's break-up scene in Chapter 2 was very realistic. Karen's words and anger were written so well - and this line was so perfectly true - "It’s hurt me so fucking bad trying to make his work while you were just floating along, one foot in and one foot out."  And Chapter 3 with Jim showing up at the art show, sigh.  Can't wait for the next update!

Oooh, this is great.  I can't wait to see what Michael thinks of his portrait.  Maybe he'll hang it in his office?  I love how Pam's art is improving as she "finds herself."  I'm glad she was assertive in asking Jim to the art show.  Hopefully we'll see some of her later art someday on the show so we can see how she's progressed.

Looking foward to the next part and what Jim thinks of her work!

Ooh, I really like this so far. I LOVE Pam trying to work on other areas of her life, and oh man, her drawing Michael well just kills me. I like that Karen is angry and says the things I hope she'd say when dumping Jim, and that Jim's honest about some of the unfair things he's been doing. And I love that you set it six weeks after Cocktails with no fistfight in sight. ;)

Author's Response: Thanks so much!  My basic premise is that Jim was hurting so much after CN that he allowed himself to become really self absorbed and to treat others poorly, but that he's essentially a decent guy and would tend to come to realize that and regret it.  And I wrote my best effort at Jim-Roy in another story and have no desire to do it again.

This is really nice.  I LOVE that you had Pam do a picture of Michael, and your description of all of that - that she worked hard to make it sincere and something he would love.

I look forward to more. 

I love me some Michael love -- it is so sweet how both Pam & Jim (and sometimes Jan) are the only ones who really connect with the really sweet person in him.  Can't wait to see Michael see his portrait!
