Marsha, I think you are on to something...

Love it, love it, love it! Of course others have obviously persuaded you to go on since there are 19 chapters. I'm hooked already (damn you) and will have to see where you take this...

Oh, that is so sweet! And not just the adorable Jim/Pam stuff, But the Marsha stuff too! I had tears in my eyes after reading her letter to Jim, I hope she's still in the story!

So I had this nice idea that I'd go to bed early and wake up tomorrow morning and get some homework done, but then I just started reading chapter 1 of this story...and here I sit, over 2 hours later, at the end. And I swear, I'm nearly crying. And I'm not often reduced to tears by things I read. This is all of course, crying in the "good" way. I was a little hesitant to read a story narrated largely by an OC, but I gave it a shot, and I'm glad I did. This story was truly unique and lovely. I love how Marsha had her own little backstory that really affected how she related to Jim and Pam. I love the way Jim kept delivering the letters after Marsha left. I LOVE the epilogue. I just...this was great. I love it, truly. I can't wait to make my kids write letters to their dream girl/guy! :P I'm actually serious about that, I think it is the neatest idea I've ever heard-I am an overly sentimental romantic, I guess. Maybe I'll start writing mine-20 isn't too late to start, is it? Or is it too creepy? :P Anyways, I just wanted to share my love for this story. Great, great, wonderful, awesome, lovely job!

this was a great story - very original!

I read this entire story in a few hours. Seriously, I went to Starbucks and stayed there until I finished it (this was about a week or so ago), thanks for such an awesome fic! Ribbon well deserved. Oh, and I love the bad chapter, it made me giggle :P

Ohhh Azlin I think i'd read this before but oh gosh, it's too hilarious. I think the fact that they both are strippers is hilarious. I think this ending may be just as gratifying as the real ending... if not more so. Well, not really but it's still great :D Love it!

What--no visual for the Jim stripping gig? I'm really disappointed. Congrats to you, Azlin. Well deserved. I remember spending one particular Saturday night reading this for what felt like (and probably was) hours. I was totally into it. Thanks for the fun update. Looking forward to more of your work--and more blue ribbons--in the future. N.

Oh that's great!! Good (bad) job. :)

I think I just melted. Seriously, such a fantastic story and I love the bit with Audrey at the end!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun writing this one.

I have thoroughly enjoyed The Garbage Can Letters. I'm glad you got around to finishing the epilogue. Thanks for having Pam & Jim keep in touch! I especially enjoyed the tag team first letter to Marsha.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I really enjoyed writing it. It was always my plan to do this epilogue, but for some reason actually writing it turned out to be much harder than it should've been. Anyway, I really appreciate your review!

Sniff. SO amazing. Thank you for writing this wonderful story and sharing it with us. I am very happy you posted this last chapter and we got to see what happened with your characters. Congrats on a great job!
Author's Response: Aw, thanks, Crystalized! I'm so glad you liked the epilogue. I've been planning it since the beginning of the story, so I'm glad you're okay with the ending. I was worried no one would care about my characters after so long. Thanks again for your review! You're the best! ;)

YAY! So happy to see that things started to work out for Marsha.
And double YAY for the Jam wedding. It's the stuff that fairy tales are made of. Actually, better than fairy tales, who needs a dragon or a witch or talking animals?
Author's Response: Thanks, Lisahoo! I'm really glad you liked the ending. However, you should know that I'm actually working on a new story right now that involves a dragon. Not kidding. I'll keep you posted. ;)

Aww these last few letters were so beautiful. I'm happy for Marsha and her kids and I love how Jim and Pam kept in touch with her and sent her copies of the letters. It really is a perfect epilogue -- all the characters are happy and we get to see little glimpses of their futures.
This was really one of the most romantic Jam stories ever. I am so glad I read this and thank you for sharing it! *happy sigh*
Author's Response: Thank you so much for all your reviews! You have no idea how much they made my day! And I'm really glad you liked the epilogue, and that it fit in okay with the rest of the story. It's been so long since I started writing this that I wasn't sure it would all fit together right, so I'm glad it worked for you!
Date: February 23, 2008 03:17 am Title: you and me wake up
So. incredibly. cute. I love how Pam read the missing letters, and the banter about Chelsea. Heehee.
Author's Response: If I were Pam I would totally be teasing Jim about all his former girlfriends. Even Karen. Well, eventually. I mean, I think that might be a little awkward for awhile still, but eventually I'd hope we'd be able to laugh it all off. And now I'm picturing myself sitting on a couch laughing with Jim. Thanks for that image. I'm gonna enjoy that for awhile!

Eeek the beginning was really awkward! Poor kids... I'm glad the restaurant staff tried to knock some sense into Jim, that was really funny. Aww and the notes, followed by the whispering -- so precious! I'm so sad to hear that it's almost over. =(
Author's Response: Well, it couldn't be TOO easy. I mean, that just wouldn't be any fun to read about. Oh no, wait, it would've. Really, I was just a big fan of the notes/letters theme at this point, so having them actually talk to each other just wouldn't have been as much fun for me to write. So selfish reasoning all around I guess. ;)
Date: February 23, 2008 03:04 am Title: to follow the sweat down your spine
Aww I can't stop smiling...Jim's letters are making me melt into a puddle of goo. Why must he be so perfect? And the kisses!! You are so good at this!! =)
Author's Response: I'm not sure even Jim is really that perfect, but it was super fun to think of some guy doing this, and Jim definitely has that romantic way about him. Sigh. I love Jim. In case you couldn't tell.
Date: February 23, 2008 02:58 am Title: it knocks me off my feet
Oh that's so sweet! Sending her on a scavenger hunt to all the places he fell in love with her. *happy sigh* Customer service girl sounded really bitchy. lol Oooh the roof!! I hope he's up there!
Author's Response:
One thing I did with this story that I actually like a lot, is that I tried to give the periphery characters some background instead of just having them be one dimensional. It started with Marsha, and then just kind of expanded from there. The idea was to sort of have the reader realize that it takes more than two people to get a couple together, and sometimes that help can come from nice janitors and sometimes it can come from cranky customer service girls, but whatever form it comes in, eventually it all adds up to the couple getting together.
Wow. I did not mean for that explanation to be so long. Anyway, thanks for your review!!!

I love you, dream girl. I might not ever be able to tell you that, but it doesn’t make it any less true. Love, Your best friend. Awwww my heart just melted!! Could these letters get any sweeter? Heehee! I love how Jim keeps avoiding her...is he still checking for letters in her garbage? *reads on* OMG they could get sweeter!! The letter on the windshield that he just wrote was oh-so-romantic! I'm on the edge of my seat here! Heehee!
P.S. I just realized that I'm probably spamming your email...sorry about that. =)
Author's Response:
Dude, spam me anytime you want FT! Reviews are the best kind of emails of all the emails. ;)
I'm so glad you liked this chapter. I got several little thrills while writing it, that's for sure!
Date: February 23, 2008 02:43 am Title: unless of course I was already there
Heehee Pam's letter was so flirty and hot! I love how Jim's reaction to it was to tease her about it, that's so them. =) Awww Jim's letters are the sweetest!! *happy sigh* This story is the best. ♥
Date: February 23, 2008 02:36 am Title: caught by a wave, my back to the ocean
Oh my!! Sooo many good lines. I loved this part: Hey Pam! How’s it going? Oh, by the way, I read your letters, and, uh--turns out I want to marry you, too! What do you think? You, Me, Vegas? We could leave right now! Just wait here for a second while I go dump my girlfriend first. Hilarious. And KAREN!! Oh that's so heartbreaking. I do like her so I always feel bad when she gets hurt. *runs to read the next chapter*
Date: February 23, 2008 02:29 am Title: still you're my best friend
Eeeek Pam told Jim about the letters she's been receiving! I'm glad Marsha's package arrived because I wouldn't be able to handle another chapter without the letters!! Heehee. =)
Date: February 23, 2008 02:24 am Title: and I'd dig my way home
Oh my goodness!! This entire chapter was so touching! Marsha's story is so sad!! And the letter from her own daughter was really moving -- I hope her story gets resolved and that she gets to reconnect with her kids. Jim imagining his daughter was adorable, and his dreamgirl letter in this chapter was really sweet.
Date: February 23, 2008 02:15 am Title: I was feeling like a creep
Haha the Jim/Kelly/tampon incident sounds hilarious. And I loved re-reading one of those earlier letters with Jim's thoughts added. That was a really nice touch. And again, the dreamgirl letters are adorable, that was such a good idea! =)
Date: February 23, 2008 02:10 am Title: I was dreaming, I was dreaming of a dreamgirl
Oooh it's getting really interesting...Marsha gets new Pam letters and old Jim letters and Jim gets old Pam letters...the plot thickens! Aww dreamgirl letters! 10-year-old Jim is adorable. This story is so good! =)
