Okay, you've finally pulled me out of lurkerdom because I HAVE to comment on this. Oh. My. God. That was sick and twisted and so hot I cannot stand it. (Or, if I was a guy, I could literally not stand up for a few minutes).
I kind of hate Ryan on the show, but this is such a wonderful characterization of him - fun, flirty, and twisted. I'm sure some could say Pam is not acting very Pam-like, but I wouldn't agree. That's the beauty of fic, the ability to take these characters places that they would never go on the show.
Jim is a dick here, but I totally buy it. And I can't believe I didn't realize until now just how much I've been needing this story. This fandom doesn't do twisted, alas.
The only critical thing I would add is that I was thrown off by Pam and Ryan on the dance floor. I LOVED the mirroring, and that Ryan knew what was going on, but they were still dancing (yes?) with everyone else around, so I don't think even as twisted and delicious as it was that Ryan would be, uh, going there. And by there, I mean under the skirt.

Author's Response: Ooh, I LOVE pulling people from lurkdom!! Thank you so much for saying that you feel the characters are still... in character, haha, that really means a lot. Somehow I think "twisted fic" has sort of become my thing on this site, haha, so I'm glad you like it. As for the dance floor thing, in my head the place is pretty empty and well... dark, so that they could get away with that without being incredibly skeevy, haha. Thanks again!

Love how you have Pam and Jim getting through this - their frustration at their situation would make them start to use other people voraciously to get at each other and Ryan's along for the satisfying ride.

I've been sitting here with my fingers frozen on the keyboard, not quite sure what to type. Because you just took this story to such a twisted, sexy, AMAZING place. Seriously, I did not expect that [/Pam]
But, let me be perfectly clear-- I LOVED IT.
She feels Jim’s hand brush across the length of her back as he walks past her.
Is it weird that I found *this* to be the hottest moment of physical contact in this chapter?
The guy that just couldn’t be Jim while Jim was gone and yet was him now that he was back.

“Nothing, it’s just…” he looks at her, a grin spreading across his face. “You just said my name.”
This made me SO happy. I cannot explain why. I swear I'm a Jammer. But Ryan was just so awesome in this chapter. Actually, in this entire fic. I just like him more than Jim in this! GAH!
I'm torn, because part of me thinks that he's found what he originally wanted with Kelly--no strings attached fun. But the other part of me sees in moments like this ("you just said my name") that he wants something more from Pam. And really, I'm okay with either option! Ryan/Pam is just... hot.
Now, I try to stay away from judging the moral character of... fictional characters, especially in fic. I refuse to judge Pam for having a romp with Ryan, because good for her!! But I feel really bad for Karen. I mean, I love her in this fic, and part of me thinks that Jim is right. That Karen is pushing Pam on Ryan to protect her relationship with Jim. But another part of me sees that Karen and Pam really are friends and it was crappy of Pam to do that to her. And of Jim. I don't feel so bad for Kelly, because they are broken up, or at least on a break ("Friends" flashback!)
Jeeze, could I have babbled on any more? Suffice it to say, I will follow this fic to the ends of the earth. LOVE.
Author's Response: THANK YOU! Ahh, I can't even articulate how awesome this review was to read, seriously. I'm so so glad you liked it even if it was kind of twisted. With this last chapter it seems like people are getting impatient for JAM so I'm glad that you'd be happy with either outcome because, yes, Ryan is the hotness. As for Ryan's "intentions" I'm definitely going to delve into that more in the upcoming chapters, especially that I know exactly where I want this to go now. So, again, thank you so so much for being supportive and just awesome!

I'm such a diehard Jim/Pam fan in real life but i am SO pulling for Ryan/Pam in this one...

Well this is not what I expected... But that is okay. It was so muc more.
I can't tell you how many times I said "what?!" while reading it.

I was wondering how you were going to give Pam & Jim satisfaction without cheating. Well, literal cheating anyway, we know Jim is thinking about Pam every time he is 'with' Karen.
And I think I love Ryan just a little more -- heck, even drunk, he knows the score. “You were trying to get Jim off from across the room,” and “It’s okay, you can say his name.” For some weird reason, I'm glad he's not a dupe in this.
And I wonder what Jim is thinking, having just heard Pam shout out Ryan's name.

She said Ryan's name! Even after he told her she could say Jim's name! Karen/Jim and Ryan/Pam simultaneous sex! I think my head exploded. So, yeah, this was pretty much the hottest thing ever in the history of hot things. FYI.

Dude. Aside from how freaking hot that was, this had to be my favorite part:

That was kind of painful to read as a Jim/Pam fan, yet kind of nice to read as a Pam fan who's just tired of her suffering.

Wow. You may have outdone yourself. I'm sort of okay with the Pam/Ryan sex, since Jim was not only condoning, but enjoying... I did not expect that. Now if I were Pam, that conversation in the hallway would have moved right to my room - who needs a damn stand-in? Or 2 stand-ins?
Interesting that Pam said Ryan's name. Again, may not have been my choice, if I were Pam, but very interesting twist.
