I'm so glad you came back to this story. I remembered it. Yeah for burnt pop-tarts! Finally.
Author's Response:
I'm so sorry, so rude of me. I always respond to my reviews...urgh, so sorry. Thanks for remembering and thanks for reviewing. Oddly enough every since that chapter I've had pop tarts in my house. :-) I really appreciate you reading my fic.

Perfect!
Author's Response: THANKS! I really appreciate the review.

I definitely didn't forget about this story! And I just spent my morning re-reading it so I remembered everything for the latest chapter. This is one of my favorites. You nail the awkwardness so well. I love how Pam slowly got more confidence to re-kindle their friendship and start their romance. While this is AU, I also really liked how it's not too far removed from the plot of the show. I don't know if you planned it that way, but I enjoyed it. Great job :-)
Author's Response: I'm glad, it's been so long and I know that so many stories are posted - I didn't know if people would still remember this one. But i'm very happy you liked it. Unfortunately I know a little something about awkwardness. :-) It wasn't really intentional that this dovetailed the show, but happily it did. Which is good because I used to write chapters as they inched closer and yet they were getting farther apart on the show and I would be depressed. But now, it's all good. Thanks for the review.

Good story--nice perspective! I enjoyed it. Thanks.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked it.

Yay! So glad you are back. And you brought Jam Smooches!! So adorable that they are both so nervous!
Author's Response: Thank you for the review and it's good to be back...should we be standing by a lake somewhere (just kidding). I'm glad you enjoyed this and thanks for the review. Yes, who can refuse JAM smooches!

DUDE! Seriously, just a few days ago (aka yesterday) i was thinking I needed to yell at you to write more. And then what do I see when I wake up this morning? An email telling me this was updated.
Okay, just thought you should know the first line, I started mad giggling and a huge smile. I think I look like a freak that at my computer. But whatever. It is a good reaction. And I am just glad I am alone in the house and no one except my dog gets to make fun of my weird reactions at a computer screen.
" clutching his shirt in her hand," such a cute image.
"But not this time; no one was backing away anymore." best line (in that paragraph... in that whole sentence... i make no promises because i haven't even scrolled past tat to find other best lines)
" there was no place he would rather be." that wins best line for the next part of the fic, because that entire image and those words just equal wonderfullness.
And he got to kiss her. :D
Ah you mention morning breath. That makes me happy. Because morning breath is EVIL. Which is why I will admit, I had to brush my teeth, floss, and use Listerene before I read this fic. Not because I didn't want to share morning breath with my computer, but just because my mouth felt gross.
I think "no skills with women" Jim is even more adorkable than whatever skills he may posesses Jim
My refridgerator doesn't give me good advice either. Which is why i switched to the microwave. A great listener, and always ready with a pearl of wisdom.
“Yeah, what is that about?” - reminds me of Back from Vacation where they are talking about Michael and Jan in Jamaica
“ Because it’s you.” - best line from next section
oh and that is both times it was said, just fyi.
Lots and lots of kisses. And with no morning breath. Just possible fires
After having similar issues, I have decided that i am going to make a brain to usb cable. Instantly write things how they appear in your brain without that trouble aspect of thinking and stuff. (also handy for screen caps and just imagining JK in all his glory). Will you be willing to buy one?
Author's Response:
I am so in for the brain to USB cable. When is the ship date on that?
Actually, that's exactly what I was thinking about (BFV) with that line, and the I think we're nervous was meant to make you think of Casino Night (I think we're just drunk). I'm obviously a big fan of the nervous Jim, and I'm glad if I didn't take it too far here. But what I can say, I love to draw out the angst. That and I just couldn't figure out how to write this chapter, I sat down and nothing, nothing came out.
I'm absolutely wanting to squee with happiness that the because it's you worked. I couldn't decide if it was good, or so cheesy you wanted to bring out nacho chips.
Thanks for the review, and I'm glad to be back. And right back at you!

Oh, such a lovely chapter! I loved the post-first-date awkwardness. It was absolutely endearing! And I'm really glad that Jim had a "Grown Up" moment and realized he needed to work things out without Jane's help.
Author's Response: You know, I love Jane and I think Jim does too, but yeah, at some point I wanted him to realize that this is Pam and he can do this himself. I don't know how well I conveyed it, but that's what I wanted. And as for the awkwardness, we've all been there right? Oooh, just me? whoops. I figured it would be weird for them, so I went with it and I'm so happy that you liked it. Thanks for the review.

I'm so glad that you updated this! And I really love the way you've written Pam, and Jim's reactions to her. Looking forward to more.
Author's Response: Thanks! This is the first fic I've tried to write entirely from Jim's point of view and it's harder than I thought it would be. It's hard to just put subtle clues as to what she's feeling and make Jim think about it, instead of just saying it. But it's been a fun experience and I'm glad that it rings true to you. Thanks for reading.

How could you not just love nervous Jim? So cute. I'm very curious about the other two movies.
Author's Response: Really, how could you not? I'm am glad you are enjoying it. Thanks for the review!

Just... a totally sweet way of bringing them together again, w/out compromising their characters at all. Love this!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, I am glad that you are enjoying the story. I try really hard to keep them in character and my amazing betas usually call me out if I take them out of character. But I do think that the basis of their romance is their friendship, so I have enjoyed writing them finding their friendship again.

Uhh, can I request a picture of Pam in the pink sheer sweater?
So much goodness here...Jane, the beer/wine thing, the great fun of seeing them cross the line from friendship into something more. Looking forward to Ch 10.
Author's Response: Thank you for all your support, I doubt I would have gotten this far without you!

Date Night!! Loved these lines in particular:
But now, his Pam compass was off and he couldn’t tell
Beer is better for the ‘hey my friend and I are hanging out in my semi messy apartment watching movies since we have nothing better to do’ kind of night. Wine is more like…I don’t know…a date.” I seriously bounced my feet off the floor under my desk at that!!!
Author's Response: I am so glad that you liked it! My feet bounced off the floor when I wrote it, so I'm glad that it worked for you! Thanks for the review!

Was so pleased to see you'd updated this. And I don't know who's more pleased that it's an actual date - Jim or me. Love him all nervous and scurrying around to clean up and bungling opening the wine and his phone call with Jane ('Then you did it wrong.' Hee.) I think he's doing just fine ;-) Great chapter.
Author's Response: Oh yeah, of course he's going to do it right. Jane's faith in him is not misplaced! I loved the idea that he would shyly ask if it were a date, but I also liked making him really nervous about it. Maybe its because I think its cute, but I also think he would really be nervous (hello? who was drumming fingers on a door jamb). I certainly hope we'll see something from you soon! I am, of course, honored to get a review from you!

I know, its so happy that they have a date in canon... now I can read fanfic without wanting to scream at them,
"see your fictional fictional selves can do it"... and just enjoy the story :).
That parking lot is sure important to their history... I kinda think that when they get married they should get married in it. (hey its more romantic than a grave site hehe).
The most movies I have ever watched at once was MAYBE two... and I think for the last half of the second one I was mostly asleep. Then again, I didn't have a Jim (as a friend or boyfriend), during that.
Wuv. Haha. Me and my friends used to say i wuv woo... it was so pathetic and weird. Eventually, we shorted it to wwdma (wuv woo da mostest always), god we were such weirdos. now i have to call up jo and ask if she remembers how pathetic and weird we were.
Now exactly sure how wine goes with ice cream, pop corn, and chinese, but I sure like it!!!!
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOOKIE DOUGH. Just the best type of ice cream EVER!
Yes, Pam in that would have that reaction on Jim... or any other normal straight guy...
Still totally enjoying it, and I have a great smile on my face... which means I can survive the rest of my day (or at least the next few hours, its a very LONG day).
Author's Response: Hmmm, a wedding in the parking lot? Could work. Definitely a proposal! Wuv, seemed so funny. But yes when I was very little I apparently said uv ou. Course I was like 2, but I still think its cute. I am happy if I could improve your day. And just in case I haven't said it lately, glad you're back!

Thank you for once again proving that Jim Halpert and I are made for each other. Mint chip and Pinot Grigio? Seriously.
Oh well. If I can't have him I want Pam to.
Hope you're having a better day today. Still loving this - but you already know that. :)
Author's Response:
Well someone I know with good taste likes Mint Chip and Pinot Grigio.....who could that be? Thanks for everything!

I am like, in love with this chapter. Just...ahhhh!!! :)
I absolute adore the part where Jim asks her if it's a "wine or a beer kind of night." Such great dialogue. And you totally captured the nerves and the excitement they were both feeling at that point. Lovely scene.
I can't wait to see how the rest of their date goes!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review. I really enjoyed writing that scene and I'm so glad that it rang true for you! I am likewise in love with your review.
Date: June 04, 2007 09:58 pm Title: Movie Night
I think this is my favorite chapter so far. I adored it. I loved how Jim called Jane, and how he explained the wine vs. beer, and for some reason, the whole thing about Jim going to change struck me as really a neat moment, and this is a big run-on sentence, but that's how I feel about this chapter! This would be a great "first" date for them, wouldn't it? You know I'll be reading when you finish the next chapter!
Author's Response:
Thanks Kev! The wine versus beer moment is my favorite too! I think we would all like to go on a date like this, and I would certainly like to see Pam and Jim like this. Thanks for always being so supportive you're the best.

Very nice. Love the way the story is building
Author's Response: Thank you, right back at your about your fic!

Heeheeheeeee I am very much still enjoying it! It's funny I can never seem to remmeber the names of all the fics I read, and I kept looking for this one waiting for it to be updated. Yay! I hope you continue soon!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the review, I do love feedback! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I hope to update next week presuming that the Jim in my head cooperates :-)
Date: May 29, 2007 12:45 pm Title: That's What Friends Do
Ha - Jane's message was so perfect. I thought she'd come in and say something in person to Pam, but the phone message was ideal.
And I really liked how Pam openend up about how she knew Roy wasn't right for her, showing a parallel between her and Jim's relationships. So Jim didn't feel like such a jerk about the Karen thing.
I can't wait to see what happens when they get together for movies, if you're interested in continuing!
Author's Response:
thanks for the review! I hadn't really thought that their relationships were similar until I wrote this chapter and then it sort of clicked for me. Of course Pam would understand why Jim stayed with Karen, after all she went back to Roy for the same reason. I happily have no choice but continue, this story has sort of taken up residence; and i have another chapter just about ready to post - which I hope you will like. And really I can't let go of Jane yet. :-) A romantic at heart I have to continue to at least show their date.

As if this fact weren't already well established...I LOVE JANE--she's a crafty little bugger and I love it. So glad that they're spending time together now, can't wait for their Friday date!
Author's Response: She's been the best part of this story for me, ah Jane, thanks for being you. seriously, I am so happy that presumably out there in pretend office world they are dating now, but I am so sad that we can't see it!!! But we can write it huh? Thanks for the review!
Date: May 26, 2007 01:08 pm Title: That's What Friends Do
There is no more next button. Makes me sad ... :(!
HAHA!!!! Wow, huge laugh. I mean, seriously, who DOES break up with Jim!? Doesn't she know its JIM!?
That sneaky Jane... she knows how to get it done, doesn't she!
Gah! So wonderfully wonderful. Let them be pathetic together. God knows I need someone to be pathetic with (hum, lets see, I will get a boyfriend and we will read fanfic and then I will punch him and tell him he needs to become Jim. Sounds great!!!)
Author's Response: I've been so delinquent in replying to reviews! So I'm gonna reply to your three in one. Thank you for your thoroughly awesome reviews. I love how you write long reviews and for each chapter, that's really nice of you to do and it means alot. I'm glad your back amongst the fandom, it is not the same without you.
Date: May 26, 2007 01:01 pm Title: New York Minute
Haha! Jane leaves her card in the ATM? Is that based on experience? that is just sad!!! :)
BTW - ATM machine is incorrect. You are saying machine machine. But everyone does it. Heck, I almost did it!
Okay, so here is my reaction... I start the chapter, I pick up my water bottle and start drinking. Karen says she is was in NY about a job... water bottle drops from my mouth... I stare at screen rereading it and going ....whoa...
This is the first story I remember reading (okay, so pretty much, I will admit my memory is shot from the past month), where Karen dumps Jim... and not because she is jealous of Pam.
I love seeing the little next button.
Date: May 26, 2007 12:53 pm Title: I Just Had the Most Amazing Non-Date
I JUST saw Blades Of Glory!! Me and J were there and we were having a blast being completely rude and talking and joking (and she was burping), but it was so much fun!!!
Do I want to know about that fantasy involving reception desks and jelly beans? I think not.
I got scared when I read you were on vacation and no computer... and then I remembered oh yes, because of my sucky computer this was nearly forever ago, and there are more updates!
Date: May 26, 2007 12:48 pm Title: Coffee Tea or Me?
I have a working computer again! And I have been reading fic for the past like 4 hours, just trying to play catch up (doing it in order of the emails I got, to be the most fair)... it was INSANE. I nearly died. I mean, seriously... a month without computers is bad enough. But add in finale time, I mean, seriously, without the short bits of internet I could get stealing my moms computer I probably would be dead.
Anyways, I am back, and I don't plan on leaving this computer until Wednesday when I have to start work... eating? nope. Sleeping? hell no. cleaning... well, that has to be done, or else I have a feeling a giant trash bag will take over my room. but minimal. enough so i can still have a floor.
Okay, first line... already ave to stop for a moment just to fantasize about Jim in those clothes... okay, done. Sorry, Jim in casual clothes is one of my (many) weaknesses.
This chapter was just so sweet. I mean, I am looking forward to the more than friends stuff, because I mean, seriously who isn't, but I love the rebuilding friendship. God, I got such a hue happy smile on my face.
