So, so glad the healing seems to have begun for Pam. At least she's beginning to reach out for help, which is a first step. Thank you so much for continuing this story. It must take an enormous effort to write a story full of such painful emotions, and still keep the characters sounding true to life. Great job, and looking foward to more.

I loved how your dialogue between them (or lackthereof) is so them. Like just the double meanings and awkward silences and everything. Can't wait to see more :)

Well, it took 3 readings of this chapter and half a box of tissue for me to have enough composure to post a review. This story is so beautiful. I know, a rape story beautiful? But it really is. You have made the characters and the EMOTIONS sooo real. I've been captivated since the begining, and I check this site DAILY just for an update. It's really been a long summer, but sooo worth the wait. You are doing such an amazing job. PLEASE continue updating as much as you can.
Jim really stepped up in this chapter. The whole time I kept thinking "oh my god, please don't just grab her and hug her because it will make it worse" and he didn't! He knows Pam doesn't need that right now. She needs a friend. And he's just the man for the job.

Finally. Not finally, an update, but finally, she's getting a break. I can imagine things will be much, much, so much easier if she has someone she can and probably will talk to, and it's just - I loved their moment near her car, and I adored her moment on her couch when she realizes it's not pity, and that moment when she realizes Jim is not a man of words but a man of action and he tells her he loves her without ever speaking. My God, this story continually moves me to near tears, but at the end of this chapter I finally got the strength to read the first six chapters properly, because at some points it felt so painful I couldn't read it all properly, and the whole thing is still incredible.
What I adore about this is that it's not melodramatic and overdramatic and it never reads like you want us to cry for her, and Jim; it's quiet and solemn and it's so incredibly Pam in that way, and that makes it hit harder than the melodramatic-story would ever be able to. And it's absofreakinglutely gorgeous, just as it kills you at the same time, and - I'm very, very glad that you've decided to continue this. I can't deal with stories that make me tearful and sad and never reveal an upward slope where you think hey - maybe this means something, and if you hadn't updated this...I don't know what I would do.
Anyway, I appreciate you doing this for us, and I'm going to have to be selfish and ask you to continue this amazing story, quickly. I can't wait for the upcoming interactions [or lack thereof] between Jim and Pam.
I'm sorry if this comes off making me look like a bumbling mess, by the way, but I'm going to blame it on the brilliance of this story.
Author's Response: Well, thank you moofoot! I always get excited whenever I hear form you, you always leave such detail in your reviews, it's like a writers dream come true! I'm glad that you could go back and read the hard stuff. I completely understand why you would have skipped it, though. I actually have a really hard time with this kind of stuff, and I refuse to watch movies or read books with rape scenes in them. But thank you so much, you are a wonderful person!

This story. Just, wow. This chapter could not have been any more perfect. I can see though, how it would be difficult for you - so many directions in which you could go, but I think you absolutely nailed it and it was just...perfect.
I just love how Jim knows how to get through to her - what to do, what NOT to say. I love how he wants to protect her and SHOW her, not just tell her. I honestly have no words for how much I love this story and I was ECSTATIC to see it updated. I can't wait for the next update.

I read this story for the first time when this site was down, and i just fell in love with it. You are an excellent writer. I cried, it broke my heart all the emotion.
I hope that chapter 8 is posted soon, but i can see what you mean about this being a hard story to write. I know that if I were writing stuff with this kinda of material I would need to step back too.

A warning that this review is about to get completely out of hand. I'm awed, stunned, bewildered, and bewitched by this story! I've been waiting for updates all summer, but the wait was more than worth it. This is so lovely, and I can't imagine how a chapter of this fascinating story could ever disappoint. Your handle of the characters' emotions is breathtaking; in the hands of a different author, this could be a campy, silly, melodramatic story, but you have crafted it into a stunningly honest tale that has held my attention since day one.
