I'm re-reading some of my favorites, and everything you've ever posted here falls into that category. And this struck me:

She has. She has gone that long now and waiting for him to come back is killing me (and her?). Anyway, this is still beautiful.

Pure poetry - really. Gorgeous - you have the most amazing capacity for capturing simple moments in the most...unexpected, almost obscure metaphors that are just brilliant. LOVE IT!
