I know this is finished, and it is lovely anyway as it is, but I'm always voracious for more of your work (even though you're the most prolific writer on the site) so I really selfishly wish it continued from here.
That said, I love the rapid back and forth of PoV, I appreciate both Jim and Pam's perspective and it's lovely.

Haha...love the weather talk...very very true when in awkwardsituations.

Love that even with Karen having her bag and hinting to Jim about it...all he can still think about Pam. Poor man has a (mostly) one track mind.

Haha...mentioning "kinky sex" in that elevator won't make things more uncomfortable at all. I love Pam wondering about the Fast Forward/Too Awkward button.

I love that Jim was freaked out by the 6 months thing...especially with Pam right there. And complimenting Pam in front of Karen...bold move (is bold the right word?)

Yeah, Pam joining them on the elevator; not allowing them to go off alone together is so symbolic of what's ahead.
And I totally wondered what Jim was thinking about Pam's larger VS bag. I mean, it's easy to figure that Karen bought some undies, but what did Pam get? A whole outfit?? Bet it kept him wondering that night, both at the restaurant and after!

Loved Karen's last line! This story's pacing was spot-on and a nice cap-off to the way-to-brief elevator scene.

Thank you for providing the dialogue I wanted to hear my dear.
And props for your super duper lightning fast writing abilities!!!

Look at you! With the pithiness and the streamlining! Of course, you've made five chapters out of an elevator ride...(I kid!). This is amazing. You capture that sense of claustrophobia, of being forced to confront something you can't out run, perfectly. Also, you capture all three voices amazingly well, especially the clipped, not-quite-in-sync Karen. Gorgeous! As usual!

Oooh, crazy last line. I'd never thought about it before, but you're right- watching Pam while he's in a relationship with Karen is exactly like it was when Pam was with Roy. Strange that I'd never made the connection before. The awkwardness of that moment in the elevator- yikes! Karen you'd better watch out, they're about to implode. hehe I'm still in awe as to how you churn these out. Always a fantastic job.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Jim would prefer Pam in that smudged terrycloth robe to Karen in her new green bra. But, hey, who am I to project such a thing? ;)

okay, i need more. preferably now.
seriously, love this.

Oh, I like how you just nailed how all-around uncomfortable this must have been. My God, you wrote this fast! The angst needed to come out on paper, didn't it? :)
Author's Response:
I am beyond relieved to hear you say that - because yes, I did post very quickly! I'd sort of made a resolution not to ever do that, but here I am. ...And absolutely: The angst had to work itself out.
I mean, c'mon: I have a life to lead! I can't go around worrying about how Pam's going to think about Karen's lime green lingerie.... :o)
Thanks for reviewing!

Have to commend you for 1) your incredible speed 2) your ability to make sense of it all so quickly. I'm still at odds and ends...trying to believe they can get to a place by the finale that won't drive me insane all summer (LOL) yet...And you go and channel it immediately into something constuctive and thoughtful. Wow. (btw, I have the final chapter of my latest fic just about ready to post tomorrow, but now I almost feel like forgetting the whole thing...ah, will be more optimistic by morning, so don't mind me.) Thanks for doing this. VEry helpful indeed.
Author's Response:
First: Know that it is killing me to know that you've got a WIP with chapters that I haven't read! We're in the midst of finals week, which means piles of papers to grade under a tight deadline. But next week, the husband is out of town, so I fully intend to do nothing but a) write and b) [more importantly] read! Seriously...I had your story up this afternoon, but forced myself to be good; later my husband (after dutifully watching - and, I swear, spontaneously laughing at - the LtW trailer) did an alt-tab. I was at the kitchen sink when I heard him say, "Map of the World...? Ooh, by colette?"
Needless to say, I snatched the laptop, snapped it shut, and told him the supportive thing to do would be not to mention that again until I have the luxury of time to actually read and review. :o)
Okay - rambling. Thanks for the review - I knew better than to write and post so quickly (chapters are obnoxiously short, but it seemed like a utilitarian idea at the time).
Trust me: I am looking so forward to reading your latest in full!
Oh, and BTW: I've been beta-ing a fic Starry Dreamer has been working on (it's amazing), and in my latest round of comments, I mentioned that it read like one of yours -lyrical prose. Needless to say, she was absolutely flattered and besotted, as well she should've been - that's high praise. :o)

Dude, you work fast :)
Author's Response:
I was like a fiend possessed, I tell you. ...And the whole time I was writing, I kept thinking, "I will not post this because it's just me working it all out; I will not post..."
Shameless, of course.
Thanks for reviewing!

"Suddenly he understood all too well what things must've - could've, might've - been like for Pam when she was with Roy." Sadly, girl7, I think for Jim this is still 'totally hypothetical'. Hopefully by then end of the season, though, all will be revealed. Well, or they'll laugh together at the same thing, only 4 feet apart, and we'll have to hang on to that!
Author's Response:
Too Late Kev (requisite laugh, because I am, apparently, a ten year-old boy), ITA. I don't think Jim really knows, and I also really believe that Pam will step up before the season is over (which would mean...next week's episode, right?).
Thanks for reviewing; you rock!
