In the safety and comfort of the darkness, she let herself cry. There was no where to go but up from now on, no matter what happened. She could even stop blaming herself if nothing changed between them. And maybe someday, with or without him, all the hurting would stop as well.
This broke my heart because I'm going through a similar experience. :'( Thank you for such a beautiful story.
Author's Response: Sorry you are having such a hard time. :( Thanks for the review though - I really appreciate it!

Laundry done, plus a quick walk. Now is a good time for some fanfic.
Oh, and yes. Of course. Just wen I thought my heart was going to explode with love for Pam, she goes and does that speech on Beach Day. And I wasn't sure I could love her any more. And then I get to see how happy she was in S4, and well. Basically I have nothing but love for her. She is so great. /Jim
okay. this may be a short (for me) review, because, honestly, once I started reading I couldn't stop and pause. Because it was like, it was Pam, but it was also relaxing in a way, and it was wat her toughts where like and it just brought me back to that day so long ago when she first made her speech and wow.
And thats all.
(next on Emily's day of fun - filing papers!)
Author's Response: haha - thanks for your review, Em - I'm so glad you liked it. :)

So nice, and so real. And then there's this: There was no where to go but up from now on, no matter what happened. She could even stop blaming herself if nothing changed between them. And maybe someday, with or without him, all the hurting would stop as well. Unfortunately, I think things can actually get worse, but also, I know that yes, there is another side for her, because there has to be! With or without Jim, for sure :)
Author's Response:
Thanks for the review, mcmuffins! I know, things could get worse - but I'm hoping her new strength sticks around enough to make it bearable for her....she deserves it!

Wonderful. She's tried, and she knows she's tried. Now she can move on if she needs to, that is, if his response isn't what she'd like.
I like your expression "honesty bender".
Author's Response:
Maybe Pam will be able to move on if his response isn't what she'd like - but I sure as hell won't be able to!! ;-)
Thanks for reviewing!!

Very nice! I wonder what they will show on the show about the immediate aftermath, but I could totally see this happening (and imagine that that is exactly what Pam was thinking)
Author's Response: thanks JRAddict! I appreciate your review! I hope the show follows it this way, too!

Beautiful. I can see Pam being shocked and coming off her adreniline high after she goes to cool her feet. I'm glad she doesn't regret what she said...very important for FNB.
Author's Response:
thanks, flamingosinparadise! I don't think she will regret it - even if the initial response isn't want we want... Gosh, is it Thursday yet????
Thanks for the review - you rock!

Lovely and astute. The thoughts you gave Pam were insightful and exactly what I expected her to be thinking.
This is especially good:
As least she hadn't been drunk. She was proud she hadn't needed to get drunk to do that.
That's exactly what I said--at LJ, at TWoP, to my coworkers, etc. I was so happy she did that speech while high on the adrenaline of coal-walking and not after she'd had too much alcohol. I think it's a credit to her character (you go, FNB!) and it made the speech even better.
Loved the story. Oh, but you forgot to add the part where she found Andy washed up in the reeds. ;)
Author's Response: thanks for the review, invis!! Oh, and she finds Andy after she cries. It makes her laugh again. :D

I love the concept of an "honesty bender". That's just what it was! You'd HAVE to cry after that kind of a release. Just to finish the path that kind of emotional clarity takes you on. Really lovely.
Author's Response: ah - thanks, belsum! Sometimes crying doesn't have to be a bad thing, and I just can't see Pam not needing that sort of release after the BIG thing(s) she had just done!! Thanks for reading and reviewing!

"In the safety and comfort of the darkness, she let herself cry. There was no where to go but up from now on, no matter what happened. She could even stop blaming herself if nothing changed between them. And maybe someday, with or without him, all the hurting would stop as well." My favorite part of this awesome story. I think you captured Pam's thoughts and feelings afterwards just perfectly.
Author's Response:
Thank you, kay!! I just have been feeling so overwhelmed by our Miss Beesly's actions, and I guess this was my way of worrying how she was going to react to the aftermath... She deserves so much to be happy, finally!!

Hands Miss Beesly a handkerchief
This is all good as per usual, Moxie but these two words in particular are just too perfect: honesty bender.
Man, who hasn't experienced that exhilarating feeling of unburdening yourself, chasing that feeling and then the inevitable doubt that creeps back in? Wow. Just wow.
This would make a kickass deleted scene.
Author's Response:
Thanks, Susan! To be honest (ha!) I wasn't sure if honesty bender was a phrase people would get. I'm so glad you did!!

Moxie, that was just beautiful. It was a pitch perfect idea of what would be going through Pam's head.
I liked the points about not being drunk, about feeling less valued than everyone else, and the idea of her finally reaching Jim made my heart twinge. I have no idea what the finale will bring, but I hope it's in the same vein.
Author's Response: Thanks so much, McGigi - I hope so too!!

A sweet, yet crushing (in a way) follow up to last night's amazing episode. Beautiful details of the environment.
Author's Response: Thanks so much StarryDreamer - I'm still kind of in awe of Ms. Beesly - even today!!

Beautifully captured. Could we all be any more proud of Pam?
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Now we need Halpert to get his shit together. As if he's even worth her now!!
Date: May 11, 2007 08:51 am Title: The sounds of crickets and mosquitos and maybe frogs.....
Oh Pam. Don't cry. It's OK. You did such a great job.
I betcha Halpert's gonna cry too after Filippelli gets a hold of him. ;)
Author's Response: How many hours talking will it take to get him to convince her Pam's wedding breakup had nothing to do with him and he doesn't care about it? Or are we immediately talking weeks???? I have to admit, I almost want to see him have to go through that......
Date: May 11, 2007 08:50 am Title: The sounds of crickets and mosquitos and maybe frogs.....
waaaah. Perfect.
Author's Response:
Geesh, collardgreens - I didn't know you were so easy to please!! ;-)
Thanks for the review, honey!!!

Great fic. This is exactly how I imagine Pam thinking after her speech :)
Author's Response: Thanks, comiskey - let's hope we're right!!

I can feel the adrenaline seep away from her in this. Gorgeous.
Author's Response: Awww...thank you! I don't know about you, but I wish we could see how the day after went for them....
Date: May 11, 2007 08:20 am Title: The sounds of crickets and mosquitos and maybe frogs.....
aww.. that was right on the money! It had to be! I can't imagine Pam going through something like that and not crying. It was such a huge burst of emotions, that even if she was happy that she said it, the tears would come.
I should know.. I'm such a crier. lol
Author's Response:
Thanks, Jecks! I'm pretty sure she need to blow off the release that kind of outburst caused - she just ROCKED!
Thanks for the review!
