Awwww, just the idea of the branch actually closing and them all going their separate ways is hurting my heart more than the angsty Jim/Pam stuff! I swear, if the series finale is anything like this, I will be bawling the whole time. But this is an interesting chapter ending - so much unresolved and yet I have no idea what could happen from here!

You're going to make me cry! This also makes me think about how pissed Pam must have been/will be when she found out that Jim already had Stamford lined up before he told her that he loved her. The bastard :) Your description of the rooftop was very evocative...I could really see that happening.

Wow. The scene on the roof was intense. And totally real -- you really nailed Jim's mannerisms there. And I loved how Pam turned around and kissed him again because I could just see that happening, like she couldn't help herself; she's just drawn to him and now that that's happened it's all different and it's all changed and she can't just pretend anymore, because she knows now, and ahhhh.
What's going to happen to everyone?? Oh my God, I hate you. I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Especially for saying I got his mannerisms down -- I think this show in particular is hard to write for because the actors bring so much to the characters; so, yay. :)

It's just like what Pam said about not caring about the reasons to leave Roy until she met Jim. This is SO GOOD. It all could have happened this way instead, right? It really could have. That's what you've conjured up- an alternative reality that is nearly as real as what we got. Fantastic.

So sad! Can I tell you that that's how I think the show will end? Dunder Mifflin (either Scranton or the whole company) will shut down and I don't think I can handle that. Between the Jim and Pam stuff on the roof and them leaving forever...it just sucks! But in the best way possible....does that make sense?

Wow. This was so awesome. I loved the Jam scene on the roof, and how it was so much like Casino Night. I thought it was great that Pam kissed him again though! I can't wait to see what happens with Pam and Jim and Roy, although, it'll be sad not to have anyone else in the office around anymore. Unless, you're planning on following up on everyone else too.

I'm loving how you so skillfully intertwine the canon with your story. All the little things such as the Coke, the Christmas card, the Hawaii/Mexico debate; when I come upon them in my reading, I just smile because it makes the story so much more meaningful and real if you know what I mean.
And poor Pam, she's just trying so hard to continually mold herself into what Roy wants at any given moment. When it gets to be too much, she's got Jim to turn to. Great feel for the whole S2 dynamic.
Looking foward to the rest of this!

I really enjoyed this chapter! I loved the part with Kenny's family, and how Pam has this whole life with Roy. I think a lot of the time that dynamic gets discarded in our excitement to hook up Jam, but I really loved it in this chapter! Keep up the good work!

Oh, I LOVE this so far! I was so glad I waited so that I could read four chapters at once because ONE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ENOUGH. It's all too perfect; every detail is spot-on and I feel like I'm reading the novelized version of S2! The layoffs and everyone wondering what they're going to do next...it's all so well done.
