Great chapter! I'm wondering what's going through Pam's head and if she'll tell Jim about the fight on their walk. Can't wait to read more!

I am really enjoying the stylistic choices that you have made. Especially in the second portion of the chapter with the repectition of each stand alone sentance starting with she and being followed a verb in the past tense: She slammed. She took. She called. I love how it creates a rhythm and I think it establishes a sense of urgency and determination.
On a completely different note, I love how Jim 'threatened a woman with macaroni and cheese'. That was great!!!
Furthermore, you did an excellent job of creating visuals. I also love all the added pauses and stuttering during that awkward and confusing moment on Jim's doorstep.
Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Thanks so much (sorry for the delay on the response.) I actually feel like rhythm is really really important in my writihg, so that's such a great compliment that you felt that. Lol and I love the mac and cheese moment too ;-)

I love this of course...the whole situation you have Jim in is just amazing to think about. I love how he lets her cook for them-many authors would have Jim immediately whipping up a gourmet meal, but this rings truer and serves Pam better. And I love how he puts her first, suppressing what must be an overwhelming desire to know the details. Cannot wait for more.

I really like the slow pacing. Well done. :-)
Author's Response: thanks!

We hope, too.
Love this, of course - you have a writing style that's unlike nearly everyone else's here, and it's just exuding a quiet, lovely feel of things, and it's amazing. I also adore what you write, not just how you write it - saying Jim dips his head [which fits better than any word I've known - why haven't I seen that used as a description before?!] and she nods - that's the perfect way of describing things. And how they smile and thank each other and there're favours.
Love this. Seriously. We hope, too. A lot.
Author's Response: thank you!!! your review is soo great and complimentary. ::blush:: Keep reading!!! Let me know how you like the rest.

oooh this is gonna be soooo good. The inspiration for this - Boys and Girls - has always been one of my favorite episodes for this thread alone. I always wondered HOW on earth after THAT giant juxtaposition between the man she was engaged to and Jim...how could she stay with Roy....:::sigh:: I'm so glad you decided to tackle this!
Author's Response: me too ;-)

The 'Men become husbands who become fathers' reminded me of John Mayer's Daughters, except the opposite. Great, powerful chapter.
Author's Response: haha! That's so funny cause in my other long fic, fathers and daughters. women and men, one of the chapters is actually named after that song. Guess it's one of my favorites ;-)

Ooh, this is excellent! I really enjoyed your last story, and I'm enjoying this one. You have such a great handle on the characters, and put them in such realistic situations with realistic reactions. I love your style, so keep at it. :) I can't wait for what's coming up.

Very interesting style. Really liked it though. Different from the norm.
I really liked how Pam didn't need to explain what hapened. Jim just understood she couldn't talk about it yet, didn't ask questions, and welcomed her into his house. That was great.
Author's Response: thanks! I always wish people would do that when I don't want to talk about things, lol. I guess I just write how I wish the world was.

Jim is such a bad ass with his Easy Mac. Sorry that made me laugh a little. I thought this was well put together. I really like stories that elaborate on their internal thoughts. Great job

wow. i really like this! first off, Pam leaving Roy is always a good thing. Second, staying with Jim is an AWESOME idea. :) I love the format and I especially love Jim's poem at the end. Leaving boyhood and becoming a man is the perfect image for him in this situation. I can't wait to read more!
