Wow, this was beautiful and bittersweet, which I love. I particularly like the thought that "Nobody wins. And it's not fair".
Very nice job getting inside Jim's head, you've got a good insight into how he'd be feeling!

Thank you so much! I don't know how I came to all of that, I just realized that Jim's really a very private person, even though his facial expressions give out so much more than he would like.
And I wanted FNB to be better than that. =]

Ouch. Yeah, Jim leaving again would definitely do a number on Pam. She'd eventually be OK, but I think she'd have a hard road- to fight so hard, to grow so much, to accept your loss and then be rewarded, only to have the reward snatched away? Jim should feel sick. He should be sick every day.
This is heartbreaking and makes me feel awful- in a fabulous, well-written way. Nicely done!

Yes, I imagine she'd be okay, and I imagine Karen would, too; but I think Corporate!Jim would get to Corporate and be in NY by himself, surrounded by fancy new people, if you will, and talk of art and fashion...I think that would break him, and I got a little tired of the pushover!Pam stories, lol
