I just finished reading this story up to this point and I must say I am quite captivated with the concept. Although I've never seen this movie, I am enjoying the way they are slowly remembering little things, and that they are drawn to each other in a way that they don't really understand at this moment.
Roy really is pathetic in his hamfisted attempts to get Pam back. And Karen, as usual, is wondering WTF is going on with her pod-person boyfriend.
So anyway, just wanted to tell you that you're doing a really nice job with this story and I'm looking foward to more.

Wow, that was teriffic. I had chills when Jim started having his flashback/memories at the end, it was really that good.
If the movie is as good as this story, then I'll have to go buy it.
Author's Response: Thank you! The movie is great - you can actually visually see the memories as they're being deleted, which is something I wish I could do in this series. But I'd definitely recommend it. Kate Winslet is great and Jim Carrey is surprisingly very good in a more serious role.

I've been reading this site all summer, but I finally caved and registered just so I could tell you that your writing is FANTASTIC. Everything on this site is pretty good, but you... you could do novels. You SHOULD do novels. I find interest in the smallest details, the way you convey the characters' little quirks and subtly hint at their feelings and things they might be remembering. It's the "show, don't tell" they drill into your brain in poetry... you've mastered it, and it makes everything feel so very real and... I'm failing at describing it, but after reading a paragraph or so of the first chapter I actually said (aloud, to myself, like a dork) "wow." Also I love how there's a lot of Clementine in this new Pam but she's still so definitely Pam. Basically... you're awesome and you've got me hooked. And I love your name (does it come from the song I think it does?)

OMG, OMG, OMG!! (I keep starting reviews that way. It's annoying, I know.) The crossing paths in the Starbucks was killing me! And who the hell eats egg whites? Yuck! And I love seeing Jim excited about something. That has definitely been missing. From the show, too. I might be able to forgive you for making Jim tell Karen he loves her. Especially if you update soon.

Wow, that tattoo was a surprise! Wonder what she was thinking when she got that... Also, I'm really starting to wonder what Roy's hoping to get out of this. They can't build a life together again with him using a false identity and back story, so is he just looking to get laid? Or is he just hoping to build up her attachment and trust so that when he tells her who he really is, she'll love him enough not to care? Or has he just not thought it through at all and is just going for the quickest, easiest way into her life? Hmmm...

The freaking dress. Of course it punches through her memory, like a oil spot that you scrub and scrub at, but it keeps showing up as the fabric dries. I like how you are handling the Karen complication, too. And the tattoo is that a bit inspired by Memento? (All the great mind-f*** movies, yay!)

I couldn't decide at first whether I wanted Jim or Pam to have the tattoo, but I thought it would be more surprising on our fancy new ms. beesley. the story will eventually explain the tattoo, i promise. and i thought it would make sense that the memories come back to her through clothing at first. :) I hope you continue to enjoy the series!
