Loving this already…the added meaning to the don’t forget us line that brings him back….because of its use here. And Good Riddance! Great song choice!!!!!!
Feels very them too. Can’t believe I never checked this out before. Glad it was in featured stories.

I am very much on Team "Jim Responded To The Text With Something Bland", but I like this take on it. Pam really texted without taking time to think, and by the time Jim checked back in she'd overthought herself out of it. *sigh* Long ways to go until the beach, Pam.

"Not that bad," huh? Wonder why that is.
I always wonder about Halloween - as you note, they really have addressed everything they need to address at the end. It always struck me as a candidate for "events that are important in documentary canon that Jim and Pam don't really remember by the time it comes out." But their banter here is really cute and very them.

Oh, Pam. So subtle. You can practically feel the waves of relief off of her when Jim says that it's not serious. Wonder how long she's been waiting for an excuse to ask.
Vampiric Blood more or less convinced me that it was Groundhog Day. I'm *extremely* grumpy that they declined to pick one on OLP. But given the other movies on her list, I think Dirty Dancing is highly possible. (I feel like When Harry Met Sally would be WAY too on the nose.)

"That sounds like what you went through with grandpop dying... of course, you were 10." Sharp witted, Pam's Mom #1. (Although I've got to say, reading this knowing she'd eventually dress up as a naughty nurse for Michael is... troubling. :D) She's a good egg here. You know she knows what Pam SHOULD do, but she's prepared to let her get there herself.

This *does* make me feel a lot better about the end of Boys And Girls, yes. Like Jim's not giving up on her.

Hey, just thought you'd like to know: I taught a fanfiction course this last semester and this was the first fic on the syllabus (and they all loved it).

Oooof. This is adorable and fluffy but simultaneously so telling that Pam uses this opportunity to ask him about Brenda. Oh, Pam. It's right there, you're so close... you can save yourself so much trouble...
Date: May 21, 2021 11:51 am Title: Conflict Resolution
You really covered a lot of ground economically here - Pam being curious and caring about Jim, their inability to stay in conflict with each other/have a serious conversation... but the big takeaway for me with this one is always Pam wishing it was June 11th. Such a stinger for Jim, and such a telling line from Pam.
Date: May 21, 2021 10:08 am Title: Booze Cruise
Ooooof. I love Pam clocking Katy's interest in marrying Jim and his unhappiness even amidst all the hubbub and celebration of what turned out to be a big night for her. Come on, Jim, she's giving you an opening.
Also, the cutting of the toast was criminal.
Date: May 21, 2021 10:07 am Title: The Client
Pam pointing out that actually Cugino's would have been their first date has been head-canon for me ever since, because it softens the blow of that ending SO MUCH... and explains why there are apparently no repercussions in their relationship from that really sharp moment.

The question of "where is literally everyone else in Pam's life?" had actually not occurred to me before reading this chapter, which is super embarrassing - I mean, she's close with her mom, she's got Isabel, she's got Penny...Â
Eh. Oh, well. Either way, I thought you did a good job with Pam's Mom 1.0 here. She's clearly concerned, but not whacking Pam over the head with it - which fits with canon, where there was clearly no head-whacking happening with Pam at this juncture.

jimhalpert:Â you mean when I was still a junior-level salesman after 5 years, making half as much money, driving a used magenta Corolla, and having practically no personal life because I was desperately infatuated with an engaged woman?sweetlarissa:Â well, when you phrase it like that, of course it's not gonna sound greatThis is a fantastic exchange, which feels very Jim *and* feels like it goes a long way towards explaining a lot of his state of mind at this point in the season. I am really happy to have this perspective on how folks in Jim's life perceived him at this point, a question I think desperately called for a fanfic answer.

I have no idea why this "Sam/Pete" gag stuck in my head. It just feels very much like the kind of light teasing they would have done on their good days.

I have flown through this. Loving every second. This one in particular made my heart hurt, oof.
Author's Response:
Yes I remember agonizing over this one, what would sounds like something they would say, how would Pam confront Jim without it getting to The Reason Jim couldn’t go to her wedding. I think the result works but yes it hurts T_T
and this is this stories 500th review! Thanks so much!

Other things I've never mentioned: your version of the question she was going to ask redefined my head canon.

pambeesly: just promise not to forget me when you're famous
Okay, I feel like I have neglected to mention how much I love the way this reshapes the note from The Job.

I quite frequently check this fic after rewatching a S1-S3 episode - any chance you'd ever want to extend it further into the series?
Author's Response: I have thought about it actually and I think have have a couple chat snippets somewhere in all my half-written drafts. Maybe a sequel will happen someday... thanks for reading!

okay that made my heart melt a little
so jellybean it is !
Author's Response: I’ll take it! Thanks!

Author's Response: Much belated response but Thank you!

Oh boy, I had SO MUCH FUN reading while watching. Also, it seems to have aged well. :)

Looks like I never reviewed this; I want to say thank you both for the story and for posting the adapted version on Instagram. Thanks not just because it's a wonderful story beautifully told, but also because I would not be on the site otherwise, since I found MTT through this story.

Oh my gosh! I love seeing little “unseen moments” and you did this SO perfectly! I had to read it all in one sitting! This one is going on my new shelf for sure ;)
Date: December 08, 2017 11:11 pm Title: Before The Cameras
No, no, no, no, I didn't mean that the story notes shouldn't be there --- not at all. I'm just saying that I was so riveted by the stories that I didn't want to "leave" them. Love the story notes too! :)

Wow, I just binge-read all 54 chapters and I truly felt transported to their lives. This is an amazing series. Your insight is SOOO spot on. You did a beautiful job filling in some cracks in totally 100% authentic, true colors. And yet, you made their story even more vivid. Although your notes at the end of the stories were interesting, and I may go back and read them more carefully later, I mostly found them distracting. I was just anxious to get back to what was happening next in their lives . . . which I felt would happen without me if I didn't get back to it right away! I feel like the recipient of a wonderful gift! Thank you!
Author's Response: It really makes me happy that readers are still finding and enjoying this story, it was really fun to write. I probably could stand to go back and trim down the story notes a bit, these were written a while ago and I was definitely falling into the trap of commenting and in places over-explaining rather than letting the writing stand on it's own. But I'll admit I'm torn since as I was writing this I also was starting what I consider a pretty significant phase of my life which was moving to Japan for a few years and reading the notes make me a little nostalgic. Maybe I'll consolidate my notes in one chapter and let the rest be, we'll see. But thanks so much for your kind words :-)
