Eeek, this was soooo good. I wasn't sure if I'd get annoyed by the IM style by the end, but it really worked perfectly.
Thanks for an amazing story!

Very nice. This is the only story I've read that attempts to deal realistically with the influence of the documentary crew : the sensation of DM employees living in a fishbowl, censoring themselves for the cameras (which the show deals with), but also the feedback loop of the televised episodes and online viewer community coming back to influence the DM employees. Good job with that.
I have to say I had a strong reaction to this Brian Lensman character-- namely that he is UberDouche 2000. When you go to the doctor and are asked to disrobe, you realize that the doctor is going to be looking at and possibly touching you, which may be embarassing or uncomfortable, but you understand the legitimate purpose of the request and that the doc will be professional and not take advantage of the situation. Here, the DM workers are agreeing to have voyeurs in their lives, in exchange for a little fame, money, curiosity and perhaps some coercion from Michael or Jan. What they have a right not to expect, though, is 'crossing the line' from observation to interference.
Lensman violates this trust in a big way, and I can understand why Jim hates his guts. Even if Lensman actually cares about Pam instead of just taking advantage of his situational knowledge to get into Pam's pants, surely he knows that his boss is going to use this for ratings, and that when it comes to light he's not going to be working on this project anymore, and possibly transferred out of town or even fired. Plus the thing with Jim/Pam is not going away. So he's not going to have a long-term relationship with Pam, just a one-night stand, and for that he risks blowing Jim and Pam's precarious, tentative rapprochement out of the water. That is a selfish bastard. So I don't think it's realistic at all to have Brian and Jim friendly and cooperative at the end, not to mention Jim is going to resent this guy swooping in and getting something he's been trying to have for years.
So that violated the ring of truth for me, but otherwise I liked this story.

wow. I just read the whole thing. It took me a looooooooooong time. But man, that was really interesting. Seriously the idea was great, and you pulled it off really well. And Jim and Pam are together in the end! Lovely

This was the most brilliant piece of fanfiction I have ever read. I am one of those people who only registered to review. Thank you so much for this. It made my afternoon special (I hope that's not pathetic).
Your fanfic is beautifully written and completely believable. Kind of sad to see it end, but it did end on a note everybody probably wanted it to end; and it had to end some time, right?
Anyway, thank you for being such a brilliant writer.

Wow, honestly one of the best fanfictions i have ever read, if not THE best. i especially loved chapter 21, and how you used Tim's dialogue of the UK version for Pam in chapter 22. it fit so well and i'm not sure who i like it coming from more:) I love that Jim and Pam were so true to the characters!! Thank you for an awesome day of reading!

I just read this all at once last night and it is fantastic. So original, and the whole chat room/email vs "real life" concept could have been really confusing, but you executed it really, really well. I stayed up until 1:00 in the morning reading this, and I have a three-year-old and a baby, so anything that I willing to give up sleep for must be great:)

Okay. I have to say, I absolutely adore this story. I mean, really. I love it. I think I've read it like, five times because it is truly THAT amazing. Especially the last chapter, with the questions from all the Jim, and the fact that he's in the office, and.... yeah. I love it. If I could give it more than a 10, I would. But I can't.
And I'm right now going off to read it again.
That is all I have to say. :DD

I'm sorry that all of my other reviews have had no substance whatsoever, but I really didn't want to take one moment away from reading this story. It really is one of the top few fanfics that I have read, for any fandom (well, the only ones that I read are The Office and Rent, but wtvr.) I just want to say that you made this story so incredibly real, even though most of the situations were pretty farfetched, I believed every moment of it. And come to think of it, I never thought, "Oh, these characterizations are so good," or anything like that, cause it flowed so naturally. So here I am, at 10:40 on a school night with a record of not going to sleep before eleven for weeks, reviewing this incredible journey. Thank you so much for writing this, and I hope to read more of your work.
