Fantastic job! I really liked how you've explored this side of Kelly.
I've always felt that there was more to her, after seeing her transformation from Season 1. In the early episodes, pre-Ryan, Kelly wore high-collared blouses (albeit garish in colour), and spoke solemnly. I think the writers wanted her to have a distinctive personality so she turned into the bubbly character we see today. I've always wondered about the change, though. lol

I always love your stories. I like how you explored the different sides of Kelly. I've always noticed how she has 2 different voices depending on what she's trying to get out of the person she's talking to. The Darryl/Kelly relationship will be interesting and definitely a departure from the highschool-type relationship she had with Ryan. Kudos to you :sounds bear horn:
Author's Response:
lol. thank you. yeah I definitely always notice the two different voices of Kelly, and I just thought I'd write it down ;-) I'm so loving the Darryl/Kelly business so far. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

That was wonderful. Really fleshes out Kelly in an unexpected and lovely way. I like the idea that she had regressed so much during her relationship with Ryan. The college romance was heartbreaking, too.
Have you seen "Knocked Up"? Darryl has a short but really great role in it.
Author's Response: I haven't seen it yet! But I keep meaning too. Especially now that I know that Darryl is in it! Thanks for the review!!! Glad you enjoyed it.

Wow! Seriously, this was amazing. I love your exploration of Kelly. I love how you developed a different side to her - one we only catch glances of, like in previous ep, when she was talking about how there were 'no games' with Darryl. I love how this is written and everything you said about Ryan was true. Honest and real, you added another dimension to Kelly and that was a joy to read.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I always really love reading Kelly (and I gues writing her, even though this is pretty much my first time) when she's an actual person, you know? Like she must have something going on in that head of hers... We've seen her be semi-normal and intelligent too many times for her to only be all about celebrities and nail polish. Right? Anyway I digress, I'm glad you liked it!!!! I might have to write more of Kelly in the future, I really had fun writing this one.

That was really wonderful. So interesting, and such a fantastic idea. I think the characterization is pretty good, really. I could see Kelly thinking these things, especially the Kelly we were seeing last Thursday night after Darryl spoke those words to her.
I found one teeny error - pom-pom’s should just be pom-poms. No apostrophe for a plural.
Good job with this. Really neat.
Author's Response: confession??? (get ready cause it's embarrassing) I debated that apostrophe and everything. LOL. THANK YOU!!! I'll fix it stat. Also thanks for reading and for letting me know you enjoyed it!! I had fun writing this one, I always like a quick little departure from the Jam.

Good stuff. The Darryl analysis is great. In his own way he is the most whole, least neurotic person on the whole show. And it would be nice to think that Kelly really does have some substance and self awareness like you give her here. And of course you're on the mark on that schmuck Ryan. A very interesting take.
Author's Response: thanks brokenloon! I'm glad you gave it a read.

I like this characterization of Kelly. I've always thought she was smarter than she let on -- remember the scene about sports metaphors in "Boys and Girls" where Kelly says to Jan (From OfficeQuotes.net):
What about second base? Like if Michael said that he got to second base with you? Does that mean you like closed a deal?
And then she winks at the camera. I'm not sure how I feel about the thing with Darryl yet, but I liked this take on Kelly.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah I was sort of going with the fact that up until the Dundies Kelly seemed really intelligent. And then something kind of snapped, but every once in a while her voice gets lower and she like actually says something seriously. I love those moments ;-)
