This is such a great story. I love how realistic Jim's feelings were as I imagined that's how he must've felt sometimes in the beginning with Pam. Add to that the fact that he just wanted to be everything he could possibly for her is just so Jim. I also love how Pam reassured him and knew exactly how to take that fear away.

This was so good it took me a few minutes to think up a way to even start this review. I cannot believe this is your first Office fic. Seriously. You have nothing to worry about with your grasp of the characters because this is, quite simply, perfect. Your grasp of Jim's fears particularly is so completely spot on. And the writing is beautiful. When I was reading the part about his little meltdown, I actually felt physically pained. Absolutely beautiful.
I'm also new to Office fic so Hello :) And I also used to write the odd bit of Alias fic back in the heydays of season two.

Oh this was great! Thanks for coming out to play with the Jammers, StrawberryFields! A great new writer is always welcome! I liked this a whole lot. I can't imagine that these thoughts haven't gone through Jim's mind at least to some degree, and I like what you've done here by amping them up and having Pam be the one to really be there for him, like he has for her. I also love how it was the trigger for them to talk about all those "unspoken" things of last year. Way to go!

I'd say we're lucky you decided to start writing Office fic. This was very good. The only thing I would say is that Jim and Pam aren't usually ones to have deep conversations about their feelings. I think you showed that here pretty well by having Jim hide his true feelings like that. But, some of the long chunks of dialogue seemed to ring a little false to me. Regardless, this was a great story and I hope to see more from you in the future!
