This is heartbreaking. Which is of course high praise.

So, so sad. The idea that Jim had to live the rest of his days without Pam hurts. But the end where they met again made me sigh mostly because no matter what, they'll meet again one day.

Wow. How did I not discover this until now? Just gorgeous, and lovely, and so heartbreaking but in a good way. I can't believe this is your first fic and I cannot wait to read more from you! Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
Author's Response: Oh you guys are so wicked nice - thank you for your comment!

That was the best death fic I've ever read. That was seriously a huge dose of something very good.
Author's Response: Wow, thank you!

Wow. This... is amazing. It's so beautifully written. I especially love this part:
"He feels detached and immersed at the same time, in the world but not of it. He thinks of boring days at work, spinning around in his chair until colors run, and then standing suddenly, feeling his feet, so firmly on the ground, and his head, light and wobbly."
Thanks for sharing it with us, great job!
Author's Response: Sweet, thanks a lot for your comment!

I have to admit, I've skipped over this fic for days because of the summary...but like others here, I'm so glad I did finally read it. I loved the snapshots of Jim's not-quite-complete life, as well as the little details you put into this which made it just so much more real (glass of milk for example). Truly, fabulous job. I really hope you continue to write here, I for one would love to read more of your work!
Author's Response: Thank you for your comment! I really appreciate you pointing out the small stuff, it's nice to get feedback on all the odds and ends I put in there. I'm totally going to change my summary - I didn't know what to put there, so I just winged it, but I don't want to scare people off! Thanks again:)

You know that awful noise people make right before they start sobbing...yeah I made that noise and my eyes welled up when I finished your story. I'm really not a crier so that was surprising, especially for my roommate who had no idea what was going on!
This was awesome and obviously so moving. I can't wait to read more from you!
Author's Response: Oh I know the noise...believe me, I've had many a cover story for when my roommate's caught me sobbing to sad fic...Thanks a lot for your kind words!

First time...what a great way to start then. This was beautiful! So much heartbreak and emotion. I love how you ended it. Jim finding Pam waiting for him. At least that how I saw it. Great Job.
Author's Response: Thank you:) And that's definitely how I wrote it, like he's been waiting for her and she's been waiting for him and now they're both finally where they want to be.

I almost didn't click on this story when I read "Pam dies. Jim lives." but I'm so glad I did. This was heartbreaking and beautiful and the ending was just amazing:
"He thinks of her here, in this home, painting and drawing and waiting for him. She thinks of him, carrying her with him always, living his life as best he could. And when his eyes finally meet hers, he can’t do anything but smile."
So very, very beautiful. And congrats on your first fic - I hope we see more from you, soon!
Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm glad you gave it a try and enjoyed it! I kind of struggled with the very last line - I wanted to make it simple and happy after so much gloom. I'm glad you liked it...

This is so beautiful and true, Jim would never be able to forget Pam.
Author's Response: I agree (and vice versa) - he seems like someone that would keep living, but would never be the same again. Poor Jim-bag! Thanks for the review:)

I am now I blubbering mess. Seriously, though. Stunning. Simply stunning.
Author's Response: Wow, "blubbering" - in a sick way, that makes me feel good:) Thanks so much!

Wow! i NEVER cry when i read stories but I am speechless. Please write more soon!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I literally never ever write fic and I was about to start an essay for school, when all of a sudden the first sentence popped into my head, and I decided to write the damn thing. I'll try to make it happen again:)

Oh wow. WOW. I'm usually not one for death stories, but this was really something. I think you captured Jim so well, I really felt his despair and grief at his whole life. And that ending was perfect. Beautiful! I'm looking forward to more of your work!
Author's Response: Yaayyy!! That's so sweet of you, thank you so much. I almost didn't post this because I was unsure if anyone would like it, but all these nice words are making me happy.

Wow. That's all I can say. Are you sure that this is your first time writing? Because that was just flat out amazing. It definitely had me crying at the end. And ten cool points for using a Guillemots song lyric for a title!!!
Author's Response:
Sweet! That's gives me exactly...ten cool points. I'll be hip one of these days:) Thanks a lot for the kind words! And okay, I've written one DCreek fic (when I was like, 12). If Capeside Diaries was still up, I'd point the way so you could have yourself a hearty laugh, but alas...

Wow. That was heartbreaking. I was glad to see though that they were together at the very end. Good job!! :)
Author's Response: I'm way too invested in their relationship - they always end up together in my mind:P (Aaannd that sounded kind of filthy). Anyways, thanks for the review!

oh my, I am literally crying...that was so well written and so sad. My favorite thing about some sotries and movies (i.e. Titanic and Brokeback Mountain) is eternal love, when one is gone and the other lives on without them, but ALWAYS has them with them and carries them with them (does that make any sense?) it is so heartbreaking that it makes for a WONDERFUL story and I am still crying...GREAT JOB!!!!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm exactly the same way with those kinds of stories, the whole idea of someone waiting their whole life to be with the person they love. Like a dagger in my heart! Thanks again for the kind words:)
