You're going to have to come to terms with the fact that this is truly a tremendous story. Like everyone else, I'm dying to know the plan and how things turn out. You've really created something special here, and I feel really lucky to get to play a little part in it.
The way you handle the final sad winding down of Pam and Roy is espcially amazing. The conversation with Pam's wistful mentions of gifts he could have gotten her but would never think to is just so perfect.

I thought your characterizations were spot-on, - stronger Pam still sounded like Pam-from-the-show, and involving Dwight was just so cute, and in character.
I like how you imply Roy being dissatisfied with the relationship as well - I think it's so realistic that he would feel that, when they've grown so apart, even if he is a lunkhead ;-)
Author's Response: Thank you so much impish. I feel like Roy and Pam had lots of problems and the amount that we did see of them fighting, he can't enjoy that. I do think he would have stuck around no matter what, but I think in the end it is best for both of them that they ended it. (course I am biased that way). I'm glad the characters felt right to you, that's what I work the hardest on, so that makes me really happy.

Soooooo gooooooood! I feel like this is exactly how Pam would have handled things with Roy (and Jim) if she had just been a little braver in 2nd season. You completely nailed it! Fantastic job with all the characters here!

Author's Response: PBS! You don't know how happy this makes me. Seriously this chapter just about killed me. First I wrote it and it made me cry and I moped around a little. Than I threw parts out and started over, and then I started over again. Then I threw it to my betas feeling like it would never get posted. I think it is just a hard thing to write, even though we all want JAM together, it's sad to think about ending a 10 year relationship. Oh well, I guess what I mean to say is, thank you, this means so much to me that it rang true to you. I worked really hard on it and it makes me happy that you liked it!

You do realize that I urged you to write this for purely selfish reasons? And you did not disappoint.
I like how you've so intricately chronicled the rollercoaster emotions Jim went through that day, from hope to deflation to anger and back (this was a great line: He surveyed the contents of his desk for a moment to see if there was a pencil sharp enough to just get it over with and put himself out of his misery. So sad and funny and so apt.) And Pam's realization of why she needed to reclaim the teapot. I agree - even back then, she knew only Jim really got her so completely. Okay, Pam's not the only one dying to know what that card said...

Now, I'm not a big gloater, but I called it! I knew you would provide a fresh, new spin on the Christmas card...and you proved me right! I really liked how you portrayed the rollercoaster of feelings both Jim and Pam had that day. I think Pam's actions here really show a lot about her character. I mean, most people would have been seduced by the iPod, so it says a lot that she was able to see that Jim's gift was really the more valuable one. I can't wait to see where you take this! (And the "ho, ho, ho" breaks were very cute!)
