These two definitely needed some guidance like this in S3 - and the underlying dialogue between Pam and her mom is really well conceived.

This is a great story--a nice mix of style (epistolary and not) and a great point to go AU, with a good followup to the split. Thanks for writing and sharing it!

This is absolutely gorgeous. Sweet, with just the right amount of angst and tension. Thank you

What a wonderfully crafted story. Honestly your use of the subtext in all their words was fantastic, intense and engaging. I loved Pam's mother, I found her thoughts extremely well executed, her feelings wonderfully maternal.
Just brilliant writing, I enjoyed this immensely.

You already know what I think about this story. It's just fantastic!
I'm sitting here with a hot chocolate enjoying every word all over again. What a fabulous way to pass the time during our Christmasless Office time. Great work, Ra!

Wow, RA!! Amazing story....just great! Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us. I loved it. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for you kind words, Stitious! I sure enjoyed writing it, and I'm just so grateful that it seems some readers enjoyed it as well. Thanks for staying with my little story and for the review!

This was so good. When Jim told Pam she makes him a better man...I got all moist-eyed. Excellent job!
Author's Response: Wow, I'm so glad you thought so, GodInThisChilis. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your review and that you stayed with my little story. Thanks so much!

This was the perfect statement from Jim:
I believe she is inspired to begin painting from her heart. And from mine.
Just what Mrs. Beesly would want to know, without going into too much detail too soon.
I simply enjoyed the heck out of this story. Well done!
Author's Response: I thought that was very Jim-like too, invis. ;) As you said, gave the information Mrs. Beesly (and the readers) would want to know without giving away too much. And it was succinct, which men so often are. ;) rnrnWow, your kind and encouraging words have truly meant so much to me through this process. Thank you so very much.

That was lovely. I'm so pleased that you made Jim honest about Pam's artwork--and that she understood and appreciated that. Because they were soulless. They were sad, the way she was just then (and for so long, really), and that's okay, because she couldn't have done any better then, but it's so great that Jim knew her potential well enough not to placate her with insincere flattery.
I loved that they showed how well they know each other, and admitted how much there still is to learn. Excellent chapter.
Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much again invis. I was nervous about this one too; I really wanted Jim to tell her the truth and not placate her or patronize her. And I hoped to convey, as well, that he knew that he could not make it about her right then: not "oh, you can do better than this" or "just keep taking classes" or some other inane statement people make. I wanted to convey that he knew she was just self-conscious enough to need the focus taken off her and put on something else: him. (If you can't paint yourself, paint me.) And it did the trick; she had her artistic epiphany. Hmmmmm. Now that I type that out, I realize that I could have put that in the story, and not left the reader guessing...duh. I'm such an amateur. At any rate, thank you SO MUCH for reading, reviewing, and for the kind words. I really appreciate it!

You have very imaginative concepts for stories. They always flow logically. But I feel like they are little like you have described Pam's pictures in this story. This was good, much better than a lot I have read, but it could be great. I think you have it in you.
Author's Response: Wow, that is a review for sure, and I really, REALLY appreciate it. I wonder what you mean by Pam's pictures?? I have to admit that I find some starkness in my writing. Sometimes I think that's OK--I sometimes don't care for stories that have paragraphs and paragraphs of descriptors, when a few words will do--but sometimes I do think I could flesh things out. I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but either way, I am intrigued and would love to hear more from you if you are inclined to contact me. And, I should add, that I don't even know enough about writing to know if I have described mine correctly. Yikes! I'm a little (OK, more than a little) intimidated because I know there are 'real' writers on this forum who are reading my work. It's so exhilirating to write though that I just can't help myself. ;) Anyway, thank you again, really, for an honest review and for reading my stories. I appreciate that you thought my work was good and could be great. Thanks again!

Awww, RA ... I am sad to see your story end, truly. It was sweet and poignant and very fitting. That time in the show was so sad, and you brought life to it without being cheesy. Bravo.
Author's Response: Oh, BBG, I am so glad you liked it! I'm kinda sad it's over too, it was so much fun to write and post. But, **sigh** the holidays approach and you know, real life gets in the way of writing fanfic (!) ;) I'm so pleased that you thought my story brought life to the show in a sweet and not cheesy way. Avoid the cheese at all costs! ;) Thanks again for a really great review and for your encouragement.

I loved every word of this and I'm so sad it's over. I'm glad (I think?) Jim & Pam got it on in the end, but it was very vague and ambiguous. It all felt very PB&J to me. Thanks so much for writing this. :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much Sharipep. Yup, Jim was ambling around in his apartment with Pam still in his bed, so....yeah. ;) (I actually wondered if Jim would feel funny emailing Pam's mom while Pam was piled up in his bed....but notice that he doesn't mention that. heehee.) It was Pam's turn to really do the declaring this time...and she can be pretty evasive, so it wasn't like an I LOVE YOU. I hope it still came across though. Thank you so much for being a faithful reader and reviewer!

I just loved this fic. It really captured the essence and uncertainty that's always surrounded the relationship of Jim and Pam. I truly heard their voices in your writing.
And I'm so glad you had Jim attend Pam's art show in your story. (I still haven't forgiven him for not going in the real canon episode)
Keep writing and I'll be sure to keep reading!
M
Author's Response: Thanks so much, Mirielle. I am so glad you heard their voices, wow, that is a great compliment! I really appreciate you reading and especially reviewing. Thanks again!

How can you leave us hanging like this! Torture! Beautiful chapter. Can't wait to see what happens next!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Abigail! I hope you like the epilogue. It's kinda starkly painted (pardon the pun) but hopefully gives a fitting ending. Thanks a million for reviewing and encouraging me through this story!

RA - sorry I haven't reviewed this yet. I am loving it. The glimpses you are giving into what they are really thinking is a wonderful parallel and really great. Keep updating!
Author's Response: Wow, thank so much BBG. That really means a lot coming from you! This has just been a joy for me to write, and I'm just hoping that the end doesn't disappoint those who have enjoyed the story as well. Geez, I'm making myself even more nervous. OK, must just go update and finish this puppy before I chicken out...see ya around and thanks SO MUCH for your kind words!

I really love these AU stories. They really help make the "drought" much more bearable! Update soon and keep writing!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! The end is coming. And then, I don't know...but I am so grateful that you might want me to keep writing. Thanks for the encouraging review!

looveeee it!! I can't wait for the art show!!! EEEEE EEEEE! The third grade analogy was fantastic. Literally brought back memories of elementary school. Those were the days... *sigh*
Author's Response: Wow, Sharipep, I just can't tell you how much your encouragement has meant to me through this process. This has just been so neat for me to write, but also nerve-wracking to post. So, your kind words have meant a lot! The last chapter is coming soon, though there seems to be a few people waiting for it, and it's making me nervous! I hope it doesn't disappoint. Thanks again!

woah! seriously, i think my heart stopped for a second. WAY TO GO JIM!!! that was AWESOME!
i love that Pam goes through everyone in the office before she gets to Michael and even then questions if she's really that desperate. :) this is a great chapter. I've fallen in love with this fic.
Author's Response: Wow, rulesofjinx, I'm just so grateful for the encouraging words. As I've said in other reviews, I was really nervous about this one, though it seems to be well-regarded. Hmmm...I love my next chapter, so I hope that doesn't mean that everyone else dislikes it! **nervous** Ah well, it's done...just a matter of posting it. Thanks again for reading and for reviewing; I really appreciate it!

Gah! Want. More.
Great job so far.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading and reviewing, Andys_Gal! I thought I would post a chapter a day...yeah, right. I had to just get this out...so it was like, what...three days? Well, it was all done from the start, so it was just a matter of refining and posting. Anyway, I hope you stayed with this story and thanks again!

finally! they;re getting back to their old selves! this chapter was great!! more soon please!!
Author's Response: Yeah, the darkest hour is just before dawn...or, insert another pat cliche here. ;) The end is coming....I'm so glad you're still reading my story, I_Still_Believe! Thanks for reviewing!
