THEIR FIRST CHRISTMAS! Lovely to see how easily Jim slots into her family and her traditions here. Sometimes change is good, and other times you really want someone who can pick up exactly where you left off without a hitch. And for all of the change Jim brings, I do think the idea that he just seems to naturally gel with her is a big part of the appeal. Nice to see that on a very big milestone for them.
Author's Response: We missed so many of their “firsts.” It was fun to think about how their life just finally clicked once they were together.

Well, this is a lovely snapshot of that first Christmas we never got to see. I love how everything feels so normal for her even though it's brand new. Oh, this gets me in the mood for more Christmas!
Author's Response:
At the time it was a kind of torture to think about all of the “firsts” we were missing— but it gave us space to invent our own.
Thanks for taking time to comment! It’s fun when folks find these old pieces and still enjoy them!

Author's Response: Thank you! (6 Years later...um, sorry about that?) :)

beautiful, i think you perfectly captured pam's emotions. i love you how you waited until the end to show jim, first describing the typical family setting, then working your way towards the newcomer. nice work - you fit a lot into a small chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! Two years later... Heh. The thanks are sincere, if belated.

I knew I hadn't reviewed this one yet! The thing that gets me each time I read it is just how vivid the characterizations are with such a few words for each. The details are exactly what's needed to really get a feel for who these people are. It's spectacular.
And Merry Christmas!
Author's Response: Aw, thank you! I liked inventing Pam's family, and showing how naturally Jim completes that picture for her. You're too good to me!

How did I miss this little gem? I love that you describe everything as being perfectly ordinary...so when Pam sees Jim, and how naturally he fits in, all is simply as it should be. Exactly. In lieu of a Xmas episode, I'm going to pretend this is what happened this year. ;-)
Author's Response: I'm sad that you have to settle for my version- but I agree that them finally being together makes everything right. What else can they (or we) ask for? Thank you so much!

"It was the best Christmas of her life." Such a sweet story. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of what we're missing.
Author's Response: Thank you! I hate that we're missing it- but it does give our imaginations room to breathe. Thanks again!

How sweet is this? How awful is it that we won't see their first Christmas as a couple? Arrggh! Thank god for all you wonderful writers out there for supplying us with all the "what could be happening now" scenarios. The best Christmas of her life....Yes!!
Author's Response: Thank you! I was just thinking about my own family's Christmas traditions and realizing that having the person you truly love be part of your family does make all the difference. Glad you enjoyed it!

It would be the best Christmas. Love the contrast of the 'same old' with the 'brand new'.
Damn you, AMPTP for canceling Christmas!!!
Author's Response: I know, it's so annoying. But here in fic-land, we can keep Christmas all through the year! Thank you!

This made me happy. Thanks! :)
Author's Response: No, thank you! Nice comments make me happy!

This made me smile. What else can I say? :) :) :)
Author's Response: That's enough for me! No big themes or overriding metaphors this time. Just happy Christmas fluff. It's no Life Day, but then again, Jim's no wookiee, either. Thank you!

best christmas EVER! so sweet and simple its just lovely.
(and so glad it was a story by you so i knew it would be short, cause i've got a final - eek - in 45 minutes, and reading fanfic is SO not what i should do).
such happy times~
Author's Response: HA! I'm glad my tendency for short fic could help you out. Best of luck on your exam! (and thank you!)
