This chapter was beautifully written and so well thought out, but it made me sad that Jim was pushing Pam out of his heart and letting Karen settle in.

That was really wonderful! I was hanging on to every word as I was reading. Lovely writing. I could really feel all the anger and temptation and pain and awkwardness and desire and heat. It was really wonderful. Even though it could definately work as a one-shot (thanks to your fantastic writing), unlike a lot of one-shots, this story has so so much potential for more. And as such, I really would love to see this story of yours continued. But in any case, well done! You did a marvellous job!
