I loved your flashback.  My husband traveled to Australia many years ago and still likes to throw out a slang now and then.  My heart breaks for both of them.  I hope through all of this they can really talk things out.  I can't tell you how happy I am whenever I see you have updated.  This is the best story out there!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much, khand3stooges!  This is the best story out there!  Now you're making me blush!

I'm glad to see you liked the flashback.  I've often wondered how Jim would've spent that day.  Not getting much feedback on this chapter, so maybe it didn't work for most as well as I'd hoped.  I'm glad it worked for you!

I get that Angie could be a super-sweet person, but it was a titch confusing if Jim was replaying the trip in his mind or if he was telling all this to Pam.

Hellooo Beautiful, indeed.

Author's Response:

Thanks, lisahoo.  I changed the beginning of the flashback from:

Jim's mind drifted back to June 10th.

to:

Jim stopped speaking as his mind drifted back to June 10th.

Hopefully, that will clear things up for future readers.

LOL I'm Australian, and i can honestly say i've NEVER heard Seppo or 'within cooee' (i've heard cooee, it's a call you make in the bush, i guess if you're lost) before. And some of the others i've only heard in extreme moderation!

Author's Response:

Oh, well!  Steve really DID call me a seppo – several times!  Really!  And I knew I was going out on a limb with the others, since I was relying entirely on an Aussie slang dictionary.  Come to think of it, although most of the Australians we met did use a lot of slang, Steve was the worst.  And he actually tried to sell me on some story sweepers on the Harbor Bridge ... that shortly before rush hour, they'd close the bridge and "sweepers" would cross the bridge swinging brooms or some such to get the 'roos off!  My husband actually thought it was plausible!  Oy.  I had an artist friend draw a cartoon of the sweepers and framed it for Steve as a thank you gift that I gave him on Anzac Day.

What the hay – hopefully, you're the only one who will know!

This whole story is, like, totally awesome ;)

LOVE the use of the AP students to slide in some 'objective' observations of their behaviour- the way you did it without making it forced or stilted was great.

I read it all so far in one day. Praying I don't have to wait a month inbetween chapters- so I'll sent positive thoughts in the hopes they'll keep your muses going!

Author's Response:

Thank you, variella!  I'm so glad that you thought Naomi's comments weren't stilted or forced.  Really struggled with that.

It won't be a month before the next post!

Yay for updates! I seriously drove by a hospital today and though I wonder when Cardiac Care is going to be updated  and here you are! Great chapter, I love how Jim finally finds out what Pam went through and how he deals with it is very realistic. I hate them fighting but it shows that a breakthrough is on the way :)

Author's Response:

You're kidding!  Driving by a hospital made you think of my story?  Thanks!

I'm glad you're enjoying!

I did not expect Jim to get an information dump about Pam's true reactions/feelings, but I've gotta admit I like it and appreciate where it allows the story to go.

Great descriptive work on Pam and Jim's internal feelings, also.

Author's Response: Thanks!  I'm glad you liked "the information dump" and that it was unexpected.  This was actually one of the first scenes of the whole story that I'd planned in my head.  I knew all along that I wanted these brainy girls to overanalyze Jim and call him on being such an ass.

I like that Jim got schooled on what Pam went through over the past year, though I think that he would have watched the show so should already know. I'm sad to see them fighting, but the stress is tremendous and realistic, but I hope it doesn't become to much of a device to keep them apart. Still loving this!!

Author's Response: Thanks, nimblejack.  One of my premises that I based the "back story" on is that the documentary is not aired in Scranton (or in Stamford).  So the subjects could see the DVDs at the end of the year but it would be difficult to watch week to week.  I think the arc of season 3 is completely untenable if you think Jim has been seeing the footage of Pam that the viewers see.  He'd have to be an irredeemable prick if he treated her the way he did AFTER HAVING SEEN that footage.

O.K. I'm to the point now where I get random thoughts throughout the day wondering whether you've updated again or not. Good for Naomi and Tori...."out of the mouths of babes"... as they say. Hope Jim doesn't push Pam completely away, though, in his fit of displaced anger. Very realistic emotion for him, though. Not yet able to get past his pain to see Pam's. You're doing a great job!

Author's Response:

Thanks just-once!  You just gave me a big smile on that random thoughts comment!  I'm really glad you're enjoying the story.

Nah, Jim won't push Pam completely away.  What would be the fun in that?!?!

I loved every word of this chapter.  I loved how the girls kinda ripped into Jim.  He needed someone to tell him those things.  I hope you can get the next chapter out soon.  I think you are doing a perfect job!

Author's Response: Thanks, khand3stooges!  I was pretty nervous putting this one up.  I really struggled to get the right tone with Naomi & Tori.  Not too nice, not too smarmy, just irritating enough.  I'm glad they came off well for you!

Ha the girls was very funny and well written. I'm glad Jim finally knows somemore about he and Pam's relationship. I can't wait to read more and see if there is a confrontation! :)

I still love the story. I like that Jim got his bell rung by a bunch of fans. Sometimes it's the surprise slap that will get us out of our funk. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. Keep it up!

Author's Response: Thanks, MtM!  (Oh, and I did figure out your name!  I can't believe I forgot about Dwight's little role of Mutey the Mailman!  Gotta love www.officequotes.net!)  I think y'all will like the next chapter!  I HOPE...

Wow! Such a good chapter! I always get so excited when I see an update alert for this story. I hope they resolve some of this tension between them soon. Looking forward to tomorrow's update. You said tomorrow...no backing down! Just kidding. I will be happy to read it whenever you have it ready. No pressure!

Author's Response:

Thanks, Jinxcoke!  Tension will ratchet up a wee bit more before we get some relief.

And, yeah, I said tomorrow!  You ARE one to hold someone's feet to the fire, aren't you??  I think it should be doable...

Loved it all! The part with Pam and her dad in the chapel was stellar-- by chance, "Teach Your Children Well" was playing on the radio as I read that part. Weird. But good weird!

Author's Response: Thanks, tellsomebodyit!  I'm glad you liked the chapter of Pam & Joe.  Ooh, that is kinda weird that "Teach Your Children Well" was playing at the time!

I ALWAYS love this story. I can't believe that it's only been 24 hrs into the plot. I get so happy to see it pop to the top of the 'most recent' list. Why did he have to lie about talking with Karen? Didn't he learn anything talking to those fans?

Author's Response:

Thanks a lot!  I KNOW what you mean about only being 24 hours into the plot.  Geez, now that I think about it, it's almost like I'm doing that show 24.  I've got almost a chapter per hour going here.  I think I'm gonna have to start letting some time elapse, don't you?  Otherwise, this will end up being over 100 chapters by the time Pam leaves!

And what can I say?  Jimbo is apparently a slow learner...

Very nice job with this chapter. Again, the detail you're putting into this gives us a very good picture of what's going on in Jim's/Pam's heads. Great idea having the high-schoolers fill Jim in on what he's missed by ignoring Pam since he's returned from Stamford. Hopefully Jim will do more with all this new knowledge than just sulk!

I think you're doing really well with the story, looking forward to seeing more.

Author's Response:

Thanks a lot!  I'm glad you liked the Naomi/Tori plot device.  Eventually, Jim will get past the sulking point.  It's a lot for the poor guy to deal with right now!

I love Jim's envisioning of his conversation with God. The descriptions of Pam's actions as they wait for the elevator are very moving. :) Can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

Thanks very much for your feedback!  I'm glad you're enjoying.

As I told NanReg, next chapter up is being a struggle.  Hopefully, I'll beat it into submission soon.

I did like this short little chapter, but I like whatever you write! :) Wow if you get a chapter up tonight I shall give you a deserved round of applause

Author's Response:

I'm writing away!  We'll see if I can earn that round of applause.

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a note again!  I look for your comment every chapter!

I feel my words are beginning to be quite inadequate to convey how much I'm loving this story! You've got me sitting, watching, walking, hoping, praying, holding my breath and then breathing again each second with Jim.  This has just captured me.  It was such a heart wrenching, but sweet chapter. More, please. Soon. :)

Author's Response:

Wow.  I hardly know what to say.  Thanks SO MUCH for your kind words!  I really appreciate it!
