Oh, I hope this is just the start of a boatload of "How Jim Bought the Ring" fics.  Just a lovely story, especially the line about how getting engaged will bring him to his knees even more than her.  Love how he just knows, like he talked about in Launch Party.  And calling Jon afterwards to share the news was perfect.

I don't think I've ever SQUEEd so hard as when Jim took that ring out of his pocket. My roommate actually came running into my room.

Anyway, I totally shared your thought that after a week, the ring must have been an impulse buy but ....omg I can't wait til the episode when he actually proposes!!!!

I hope you write a proposal scene as well.

Yay!! I'm so glad you wrote this!! This fits in with the episode perfectly -- even down to Jim's messy living habits. Heehee! Aww to his voice cracking as he asked for engagement rings, and of course, any mention of Kelly makes me smile. Such a sweet sweet story.
