That was beautiful. I love the game imagery sprinkled throughout, of course, but more than that I love the acknowledgement that this isn't going to be simple for them. You chart the evolution of their relationship perfectly, with the pitfalls inherent in going from friends to lovers with a lot of pain in between. Also, I have a soft spot for concise writing, and this is a great example.
