What can I say? Love it. Great ending, I can see them both standing on the stoop perfectly, ready to start another chapter of their lives. Thanks and look forward to more CC now (no pressure) ;)
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm so glad you liked the ending. Cardiac Care will start up again ... have to get back into that groove!

Thanks for coming back! A truly heartwarming story! Yeah, they got back together!
Card-i-ac Care! (Shouted, like "Drill, drill, drill").
Author's Response: Thank you! =) I will get back to Cardiac Care soon!

You finished it! Well done as always, VB. Loved all the little details and sweetness of it all. And not to take away from this story at all, but will you pretty please work on Cardiac Care now? :D.
Author's Response:
Hi, Kestrel! I'm relieved that a few people seemed to enjoy the end of the story.
As I mentioned to NanReg, I'm creating a database for Project Peanut Butter. Bit of a deadline there because one of the doctors is leaving for Malawi in a couple of weeks. We need to go back & forth to design & tweak the DB so I can finish it, document it & email it all to her. Bandwidth isn't so good in Malawi apparently and the manual will be a big sucker of a file.
But I will start back on CC while I await feedback from the good doctor! I hope to post in the foreseeable future. As in you won't be old and gray before the next post...

Bravo, VB! I so enjoyed this. I was literally bouncing in my seat :) I love how you brought this together, and I like the possibilities of an open (but optimistic) ending.
So, going back...
-So great that Kelly showed up for Pam's art show and gave her the push toward Jim. Very sweet.
-Loved the prospect of Pam's co-workers seeing her personal paintings and what they portray--so cringe-worthy yet great (and happily unexpected).
-I enjoyed being a voyeur to Jim and Pam's preparations. You did such a good job at making Pam's clean apartment and beautiful, sexy appearance realistic. I appreciate that.
-You made my heart skip a beat when Pam's cousin exited their home. "Not another misunderstanding!" I screamed (internally, of course). Whew!
You hit it out of the park, VB. Excellent job.
*ahem* ummm...now maybe back to Cardiac Care?
Author's Response:
NanReg, thank you SOOOO much for the detailed review. I was having a coronary last night, watching the read count go up with NO, NO, NO reviews! I was starting to think I should take the chapter down and totally rewrite it or something! You have no idea how happy I was to see that you were bouncing in your seat! So thank you, thank you and thank you again!
Cardiac Care, you request? Funny thing ... I have been going to a dermatologist up at Washington Hospital Center for allergy testing. I had 95, yes NINETY-FIVE blobs of chemicals on my back for two days and ... NO REACTION ON THE BACK. My torso and legs are rashy and itchy as hell but the doctor seems unimpressed. I had another bad reaction last weekend to a soap. I really need to get this figured out.
Anyhoo, I was 45 minutes early today and spent some time walking around the hospital, taking in details!
Right now I'm working on a database for Project Peanut Butter. They've been keeping their data in Excel and ... it's not pretty. I do plan on getting back to Cardiac Care, though. Maybe I won't post till I have a few chapters written so I won't have these month-long delays between chapters. We'll see.
Anyway, thanks again for taking the time to review.

YAY!!! That was a perfect ending...although I'd have loved it to go into the next several scenes! But I loved it. Awesome.
Author's Response: Hi, Strider! I'm glad you liked the ending. And thank you for leaving a review for every chapter!

Yay! I love how he's not tipping hs hand to Pam yet.
Date: October 16, 2008 11:09 pm Title: What Might Have Been
Yay, I'm glad he sees what she was trying to say. I also like how you show that the separation was really for the best. I wonder how it will work out on the show.

I love hearing about the details from Pam's POV. I think it worked perfectly to have Jim describe the painting first, then hear what Pam was thinking.
Author's Response: My goodness, you were kind enough to leave all these reviews and I somehow missed them. Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Awesome! That was very gutsy of her after all this time, but how much clearer could she be?
Date: October 16, 2008 10:57 pm Title: All His Questions
I love how you took hints that we got int he shows and blew them up into major character flaws--like Karen wanting to mold Jim, and Jim using her to deal with his grief over Pam...and his intertia. Good job. You even wrote David Wallace well.

Ooh, now I'm very curious! I'm glad she left D-M and painted, though.

That...was...awesome!! You built the suspense so beautifully. However you are a tiny bit of a tease to omit the sleaze (I was going to say smut but rhyming won). I am so glad you finished it, and it was really a treat. Love your stuff - keep it coming!
-Mint
Author's Response: Thanks, Mint! Sorry about being a tease there. I just really wanted to leave this story open ended. Let the reader's mind wander and decide what happened over the next three days ... and nights! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Oh, I'm sure Jim made good use of the box in his overnight bag. And New Jim and New Pam left nothing unsaid.
Nicely done, VB. (Now we need more Cardiac Care!!)
Author's Response:
Oh dear God, lisahoo! THANK YOU FOR LEAVING A REVIEW! It was killing me last night that the read count was like LITERALLY in the hundreds with nary a comment! I thought everyone hated the end of the story.
I really appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment. I do plan to get back to Cardiac Care soon.

This is good. When are you going to update? I'm looking forward to reading this one as well as Cardiac Care.
Date: September 20, 2008 10:59 pm Title: All His Questions
I love how you made Karen like, the biggest bitch that ever lived. :D I can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks! I did reduce her to a plot device but this was supposed to be a SHORT story, so I had to get rid of her quickly! I'm glad you liked it.

HOLY. FRICKING. CRAP.
Pam got like, a thousand times bolder.
No, a billion.
No, a trillion.
Okay, I have to keep reading.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying.

Fancy New Beesly 3.0, love the title. Love Pam's POV even more! Adorable times... the lasrgest number you can think of!
Keep the change. :D
Author's Response: Thanks!

"Two years since they’d spoken a word and here Pam was sending him a picture that said she wanted to have his baby. It was kind of creepy if he thought about it. Stalkerish."
LMFAO. Okay, I feel bad for saying this, but that is exactly what I thought when I first read the thing about babies. I was just kind of like "...weird."
Author's Response: No need to feel bad. It was meant to seem a bit over the top.

Oh my God, this story is even better than Moose Tracks! (And I've had Moose Tracks.) Please keep writing, for the sake of my sanity!
Author's Response:
Better than Moose Tracks!?!? Now that is a compliment, indeed! Thanks!
Date: September 20, 2008 10:24 pm Title: The Delivery
Holy God! This is very good. Even though I would have died if Jim had accepted the promotion in the actual show, I like what you've done here and I can't wait to see Jim's reaction! Go Pam for quoting Season 2 Jim and sending him that awesome note! Go you for writing Pam and Jim so perfectly. Reading on... =]
Author's Response: Thanks a lot JamFan4. That's the fun thing about fanfiction ... we can explore things that would make us NUTS in the show. Like Wendolf's Philly Jim ... utterly AU but perfect! I'm so glad you're enjoying my take on what might have been...
Date: September 20, 2008 07:38 pm Title: The Delivery
Ok, busy day but I finally have time for a real review now!
I love how Pam was able to show her feelings for Jim through her art in a way that she was never able to tell him in person. And "Jinx"...I could picture that portrait perfectly. I also want to say that your description of the portrait of her grandparents brought tears to my eyes. So well done.
I can't wait to see how they both react when they see each other. I think that one hug will be all it takes to bring Jim's feelings back to the surface immediately and intensely.
For a "one-shot", this story has become very dear to my heart!
It's great about your son, you must be so proud of him!
Author's Response:
Hi, jkfan9989. Thanks for leaving TWO reviews for this chapter. I'm glad you liked the descriptions of Pam's art. Jinx was a giveaway ... we ALL could envision that smile. I'm sure it's burned into the brain of every female who witnessed that scene – we all probably replayed it about 50 times, yeah? I kinda liked the portrait of her grandparents, too. Thanks for letting me know that it touched you.
And, YES, I am so proud of my son! This is going to be an amazing experience for him and I'm glad he's able to share it with me and others through his AWAY IN MALAWI blog.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a detailed review. I truly appreciate it.

Wonderful story! And thank sweet Jesus you're going back to Cardiac Care! I look for that story every day!
Author's Response: Hi, tsi! Thanks a lot. I'll get to CC as soon as I can.

AAHHHHHH! That....was....mean. I was grabbing at the mouse to click on the "next"....What, "previous" only??
Gah, hurry up! And don't even get me started on Cardiac Care!!
OK, being a bit of a bratty fanfic reader. Sorry, sorry. But you do have a way - please please write more soon! Love it.
-Mint
Author's Response: Hi, Mint! It's ok, you can be bratty! It's pretty cool to see that someone is grabbing at the mouse to continue my story. I'll try to step up the pace a bit. Thanks for the encouragement.

Oh sweet jeebus, I just read this whole thing (so far) in one sitting. Guh. I just love their mutual realization that they both needed to travel some rough road (alone) to get where they are now. And that Karen is a top-shelf version of Kelly. Bwah!
Author's Response: Hi, lisahoo! Glad you're liking my one (two-three-four-five-six...) shot! More soon...
Date: September 20, 2008 10:31 am Title: An Intensely Personal Exploration
OH MY GOD, how dare you leave us hanging like that! Eeeeee, I can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response:
I hope to have the next one up in a few days. Won't leave you hanging too long this time. But tomorrow IS my cooking day, so it won't be up for a bit...
Thanks for the squeal!
