This is poignant and adorable. Thanks for it.

[Roy,] who had failed, in the weeks after Jim left to make her remember why she’d been so caught up in marrying him...
I know this story is mostly about Pam+Jim, but I loved that.
Author's Response:
I love me some Roy Shan. That boy is smokin'. But I know that he wasn't when she called off the wedding.
I want him to find a nice girl. I just can't bear it to be Pam however. :)

My god, this is just beautiful. This? "
Even though she’d rather have him here she was proud of him, for being the brave one, for putting himself out there, even if she was too much of a coward to take his hand, hold tight and follow."
So moving. Because she's finally, finally where he always has been. You really captured the voice of a woman who truly gets it now - who loves him the way he deserves to be loved. (I'm sorry - this is the most melodramatic review ever, but this just killed me!)
I really, really love it - hope you keep writing more and more and more.
Author's Response:
Aww. Thank you girl7.
I resisted writing S3 stuff because I only HOPE she's thinking that. I'm not 100% sure she actually is.
I'll write more when I know more. Right now - the speculation - it just kills....

I think you've got her state of mind just right. All the ambivalence, regret, wistfulness. Admit I'm still reeling a little from GWH, and this definitely helps process it in a way that makes sense.
May post something later today that riffs on the premiere too...can't decide if I want to - know so little about what's to come. So, this is a good nudge as well. THanks.
Author's Response:
I had a tough time with it myself - but the more I think about it - the more l like the idea. In my other fics I have outside influences force Pam to make the decision. I love that she called off the wedding herself.
I didn't want to....it happened before I could stop myself. I really want to know more before I go further. I think I'll be too disappointed if I write now because I just can't stand them apart.

sad but nicely done.
Author's Response: Thanks gotkona!

So beautiful. I really enjoyed it:)
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm so glad.

Well your pants are TOTALLY on fire. Hee ;) I really enjoyed this. It read like poetry, especially the last lines. And I'm always one to want to shake some sense into Pam, but I know she'll get it eventually. Good job :)
Author's Response:
Indeed, pennylane. Indeed. HA! I know she will too. It's just going to be torture waiting. :)

Ohhh. This is so sad. It captures the irony so well- she's made all these changes, but she's still, still too afraid to reach out and grab the happiness waiting for her. You see inside her head so well, and to be able to convey it to the rest of us? Truly a gift.
Author's Response: Wow. Well. Thank you so much for that. Trying to understand how Pam could possibly look that man in the eye and let him go keeps me from wanting to smack her silly. :) Seriously, thank you for that. Now let's just see if she can suck it up and do something about it.

Poor Pam. He'll totally come running if you call him, you know. ;-)
Author's Response:
SERIOUSLY. Why are we the only ones who can see that??? Thanks Lissa!

Aw, so melancholy and sweet. Nice.
Author's Response: Awww. Thank you. I talk a big game but they're killing me already. If there's not some sort of interaction between them soon I don't know what I'll do with myself. ;)

Nice. Unless they are hiding something from us about their relationship, I can see Pam being in this state of mind right now. Nice wording with the "in between" which really is where she is right now. (But hopefully not for too long!) ;-)
Author's Response: Thanks Boof! Sorry to pull you back in!! What you mentioned is SPECIFICALLY why I had tried to hold back. I want to know more. Those two not even mentioning each other's names for an entire episode makes me know that there's MUCH more to the story. Hopefully it won't be too long before we find out.

OOPS - just saw that this is a one shot - so there won't be any more. (boo hoo). But it was great!!!
Author's Response: Please see below. :) And thank you!!

So glad to see this story from you! It helped ease the ache in my heart I've felt since the show the other night. This is just what I needed! Can't wait to read more. Love it so far.
Author's Response: Thanks kaystar. There may not be more of this one in particular - but trust me....there will be more. :)

She did what was best, really. Being on her own, knowing that she misses Jim because of him, not because she's lonely without someone in her life.
Author's Response: I agree. Trust me - my sister-in-law and I discussed the situation in depth this weekend. LOL! Our heart breaks is all.

I love that you just can't help yourself when it comes to Pam and Jim. Hee. Lovely piece, as always, and I particularly like that last sentence. It is just a perfect description of her current situation.
Oh, and she gave back the iPod? That is awfully generous of her! I would defend mine with my life. ;)
Author's Response:
I gave in. I get inspired while walking and in traffic. Today it was the traffic's fault. ;)
It wasn't really an iPod. And I doubt it really worked that well. :) I was thinking she'd buy herself a new one but any girl who's eating chicken or fish for 5 mo. straight isn't going to splurge on electronics.
But I'm with you. I'm paranoid about losing mine. ;)

This was excellent. Very true, this is very much what I think Pam feels right now. Nice!
Author's Response: I hope so. And I hope she steps up when she gets a second chance - which fingers crossed - she will. :)

I like this a lot. Great job at filing in what Pam's thoughts might have been about the whole thing.
Author's Response: Thank you. It took me a while to calm down and get to this place. My first reaction was "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE GOING TO MARRY HIM???" LOL! Glad you liked it.
