Great chapter. I love that we jumped ahead and see Jim still healthy and them with a family. I also like that he finally recognized he needs to be strong for them too. Poor Pam.

oh my goodness, this is the first chapter i've read in about 3 weeks because of the malware content, and what a great chapter this was! at first i thought i had missed a chapter while i'd been away from the sight then i realized that you had jumped ahead a few years. although that had been a little confusing to me at first i think taking a leap through the story was a good thing - because this story is about the medical issues that jim had because of his heart defect, therefore having them go through that with their son luke (btw, great name, i love it!) was a great idea. i can't wait to see how you will continue, and sadly i think this will be drawing nearer to a conclusion. great chapter!

lol. nice job with the scar - think for a little jim/pam chapter you could turn up the notch on the romance a little and write about how pam loves jim's scar - you know it symbolizes how he's still with her... all that good stuff. just an idea. anyway, great chapter, i liked the part at reception, jim mentioning being around people who were good at and enjoyed their jobs for once! very well thought out, can't wait to read more!

I'm fairly new to Office fic, so I just read all 13 chapters. This story is very unique and in-character, and you do a fantastic job at conveying their emotions. I liked the way you showed how Jim's illness brought them together, and I loved that Pam was the first one there for him when he woke up in this most recent chapter. Lovely story. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next :)

wow, i just read the entire thing in under an hour. this is truly amazing! i love the perspective, and jim and pam's dialog's are so realistic. great job writing this story, it's a pleasure to read. i don't mean to be intrusive, but have you or do you know somebody who's gone through this before. it's so accurate (not that i really know, though)! anyway, hope you update soon, this is a great story so far!
Author's Response: Aw thanks :) It's not intrusive at all. I'm actually going to start college this year as a pre-med student and I've volunteered at quite a few hospitals during high school. I also have my nursing assistant certification so I've worked pretty close with heart patients. I'm pretty much a medical dork :)

A lovely update. It's so great that they threw him a party, and I love how you described his desire to be at the party, but his exhaustion from his disease. The ending is so bittersweet. Can't wait to see what's next for Jim.
