I *love* this. Partially because the way you've set this up means that all of the crap that Karen had to deal with in Season 3 led directly to her happy ending, and also just by how vivid the characterization of Dan and his perspective on Karen was. And the last line is killer.
Author's Response: Eee, thanks! I was happy with how this one turned out. Karen deserved a “happily ever after,” she earned it. This whole scenario arrived in my head fully formed, which is always fun and heartbreakingly rare.

That was actually really nice. I like the surprising ending. Great job, and I hope you'll end up reading this review since the automated alert is broken!
Author's Response: Thank you. My ego knows no bounds- I check my review totals fairly often. Ha! Thanks again!!

I totally loved this! The last line put such a smile on my face, what a super romantic thing for Dan to say. And I loved Karen's question to him. (It's so much easier to sympathize with Karen now that she's out of the picture.) This really was great.
PS Nice to see a new story from you!!
Author's Response: Thank you! It was nice to write! I haven't had time or, frankly, inspiration lately, but this prompt just screamed to me. And yes, I like Karen very much now that she's safely away!

OMG i freaking loved this. Karen as tiny and mean, his smart comment. and the "Not yet," sends chills down my back. so good!!! i'm glad Karen's happy. WITHOUT Jim :) also, i'm glad someone else noticed how much Dan resembled Jim. anyway, great fic, darlin!
Author's Response: Well, thank you! And thank you for listing your favorite things (it's amazing you found so many in a piece this short- makes me feel warm and shiny!). I'm so glad you liked it!

omg I love it I love it! ok this is officially what happened in my eyes. :D
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm honored to be part of your off-screen canon! :)

There you go again with the little gems! I love how with the right guy - who really wanted her, Karen just stumbled upon him. Nice contrast with how futile it all was, despite how hard she pushed it, with Mr. Jim Wrong Guy Halpert :-) Also love her questions to him and your title (hee!) Well done, you!
Author's Response: Thank you so much, Colette! I was feeling really rusty, so for you to say it was a "gem" is doubly sweet. (And "little" - I actually had about 100 more words in the first draft. This "shortness" thing is a sickness, I tell ya!). I am happy that Karen got her happy ending. And even happier that it is far, far from Scranton!

Wow. That was pretty awesome. The "tiny mean girls" line made me laugh out loud. I loved this story.
Author's Response: Thank you, Elle! I had fun writing it. And I had a totally different title, and my fabulous friend & beta belsum picked out that line and told me to re-name the story after it. So as usual, she was right. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment!

This sounds like such a crappy way to start a relationship. But it kind of worked out for them. So now they can tell their kids "Well, mommy and daddy were drunk and bitter. And then we fell in love"
Author's Response: Oh, see, I think it's OK. She was drunk and unhappy, but he was there being charming and helped her get past it. Happily ever after, you know? We're not all princesses, unfortunately.

Yeah, I had a brain cramp on that one. Too much reading of contracting policy.
Author's Response:
That sound horrid. I hope this little bit of nothing helped ease the pain! Heh.

I've always held to the belief that Karen met Dan the night of Business Trip, possibly the afternoon of Business Trip, but didn't learn his name until the day after.
Author's Response:
Do you mean Branch Wars? Because that's exactly what I was thinking. She'd have needed a bar night after that fiasco. Thanks for reading!

THAT was adorable. And I dont even like Karen so thats sayin a lot ;)
Author's Response: That's an awesome compliment, thank you so much! I wasn't a big Karen fan at the time, but I find myself writing a lot of stuff for her. I guess she's interesting, if not endearing. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

Love it. You're right; it's so much tighter with the new opening and skipping straight to her confrontation with him. And that ending still gives me chills.
Author's Response: It's just twisted that I had to make it shorter. It's a sickness! But I really thought we needed to focus. Heh. Thank you, as always- I was so happy to have something to show you!

Aww, how cute is that? "Not yet."
Good to hear from you, lis!
Author's Response: Thank you! It's good to be heard! I was really struck by Karen's pictures of a tall, Jim-ish looking husband. Of course that could be her "type" or it could be coincidence, but I liked the idea that Jim both indirectly and sort of directly led to her happily-ever-after.

This is so great! It's nice to read something about Karen that isn't Karen-bashing. She was definitely the victim in that fiasco--obviously, she was supposed to be an obstacle, but all things said and done, Jim pretty much used her.
and, um, good job :)
Author's Response:
Yeah, I like Karen as long as she's not interfering with my favorite couple ever! Heh. I was happy she got a happily-ever-after of her own, definitely, and one that did not include Mr. Jim. Halpert. Also, thank you very much! I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment. It's great to write again!

And good creative flexing at that. This filled in the blanks quite nicely. Yay you!
I'm glad Karen's happy now. And far away..LOL! I'm not a perfect person. ;)
Author's Response:
Oh, definitely glad she's GONE. And so happy that she has no reason to bother us in Scranton again, ever. Hee! Thanks for reading and commenting- you make me feel right at home again! Yay, you!
