Poor Jim. I am so glad Charles went back to corporate - he really was harshing the mellow there.

I absolutely loved this:

"He turned back towards his computer, letting out a long, deep exhale, and he thought to himself that one floor down was a zillion times better than New York, and if putting up with Charles and staying at this job for a few more days, weeks or months meant that he would still have a house to go home to at the end of the day with the one person who brightened his entire life every time she walked into a room, then he could be more than okay with that for now."

I am glad that, although it feels weird when I realize that Pam isn't in the office, its not as bad as it was when Jim was in Stamford or Pam was at art school. Then I felt it every painful second of the episode.

Oh, anyways, I loved this. It seems to fit wonderfully with the episode, and gives so much backstory (current-story?) to Jim, and even gets Charles' voice down.

Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you, Emily. I'm glad that you enjoyed this little peek at Jim's inner thoughts. I think coming to terms with the fact that Pam has left the office BUT is no longer 100+ miles away from Jim helped me deal with the current storyline better and I wanted to share that viewpoint with all of you. So I'm happy to hear that you liked this little one-shot, and who knows. Perhaps I'll be inspired to take a look at what's going through Pam's head through all of this...

I am deeply in need of some explanation of what Jim's thinking in his current predicament, and this really filled the bill. Nicely done.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed it! Thank you.

I could feel Jim's tension leave when he was interacting with Pam. They have a wonderful chemistry in this story. Very much like the show, well done with your characterization. I enjoyed Jim's thought process about his life and career and how he's willing to stick with a job that might not be his dream but allows him through it to achieve another. Lovely.

Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. I'm glad you enjoyed hearing Jim's inner-thoughts and how even though his job is such a drag lately, he's willing to endure it for his life with Pam. John & Jenna have amazing chemistry, and it bugs me that we don't get to see them interacting on screen as much. This helped. :)

Another great take on Jim's terrible day!  "Visiting hours are over..." I can just see our humorless Charles saying that.

Author's Response: Thank you for the note. I love Idris Elba, but I will be more than happy when he leaves the office. He's such a funsucker- sucks all the fun out of the room. Although, I have been enjoying this little war between MSPC and Dunder Mifflin. It mixes things up a bit has kept the show interesting. ;)

Nightswept, this was really excellent.  It plays out like a deleted scene.  Loved the movie reference :) Great job.

Author's Response: Aw, thank you NanReg. I saw a promo photo of the episode with Pam smiling by Jim's desk, and this was mainly based off that. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie reference- it really is a fairly enjoyable film! Ha-ha. Thank you so much for the review.
