A great glimpse into the combination of attraction and restraint that Jim showed towards Karen. I totally reject the idea that Jim just used her. For sure, he was wrong, but he was genuinely attracted to Karen and he genuinely liked her as a person. It's what makes the demise of their relationship so sad. I definitely caught those lustful looks that Karen gave to Jim. They were an enjoyable aspect of early Season 3. You definitely captured the fact that Karen's only major problem was not being Jim's true love.

Thank you, that's exactly what I was going for (I think. It was a long time ago!). Had Jim never come back to Scranton, things might still have fallen apart for Jim & Karen, but there was just no hope for her with Pam right. there. I find myself having a lot more compassion on Karen now than I did when I was actively rooting for her to get hit by a bus to get her out of the way...ha.

Why did I start with a Jim/Karen piece? It does explain more of their relationship, at least, how he could have done it. But the last line is true. Someone else would always define beautiful. And now he has beautiful. And maybe soon they can start making some super gorgeous cute babies.

I loved the twist at the end! Lovely story and not just because it ended with thoughts of Pam. Your descriptions of Karen's strengths and traits really proved what an excellent girlfriend she would be. (Just not for Jim.)

Lovely, just lovely - did not see that last line coming, so it was such a pleasant surprise. And I also loved the line about him ignoring the feeling that he was falling....sigh.
You also do an excellent, excellen job here of really capturing the essence of what we saw of Karen last night. Totally loved this.
