I thought this story worked well. I could really see Pam falling back with Roy, especially in Jim's absence. She thinks she will never see him again, feels a bit lonely, and still loves Roy despite dissatisfaction towards their relationship.
I liked this paragraph in particular: "So when he asks her to dinner one day, all cute and nervous and stammering, she doesn’t refuse. Over dinner, she tells him about her art classes, and he seems proud, and actually a little eager to see her latest work. She wears her new shirt, and he compliments her again. There’s a chemistry there that had almost been gone before, and it makes her shiver."

Loved this--it felt so real and so true to the characters. Pam wouldn't be able to let go of 10 years of her life so easily, and I think it would be so real for her to go back for a bit--especially if Jim is gone.
Particularly loved the part towards the end where she & Roy work their way back to each other--just loved the way you wrote it.

Ah! I could actually see this happening .. I could see Pam slowly making her way back to Roy, and it would be sweet and different, but still ... not enough.

Okay, Puff, I'm all worked up now! Pam's just settling again for Roy. She has one bad date and he's right there so they fall back into old patterns? A zebra don't change his stripes sweetie! But you gave me hope again when Jim came back. Maybe she'll do the right thing FINALLY! Nice job.
