I thought I had reviewed this before, but apparently not. Anyway, absolutely loved this...angsty, realistic, so well done, with a little cuteness for good measure. I honestly can not wait for the other installments!

SlumDunder, how on earth did I miss this...and you?! This fic was mesmerizing. You made me feel the tension and anxiety of the break in, the barefooted chase, the fear and upset of what could have happened but didn't. Then, to end on such a sweet note with the baby moving was just perfect. Great job. Now I have to read The Igloo!

Yeah, I know I already made a lot of comments in beta'ing, but I wanted to share the love here, because it just abolsutely rocked my socks.
Ya know, it is really disturbing thinking that Dwight could realistically be the first one to know because of the menestral cycle chart. So not at all what I want to think about!
I've so mastered the opening a door without it making a sound. It takes forever. But its very handy for checking on sleeping kids (or scaring dogs)
Dude, I just love this story. Its so different, but so amazingly well written.

I love how the need to protect his family brought out courage that Jim wasn't sure he had. Pam's symbolic cleaning of their space the next morning speaks volumes, especially since we know that neither of them are neatniks. Feeling the baby move for the first time right after such a horrifying night was just what they needed to bring their minds back to the present, to stop reliving the "what ifs" and to feel somewhat safe and secure in each other.
Nice job. Glad you're planning a little series. Looking forward to the spring.

There are so many things to love about this story I wouldn't know where to begin. You've captured the dynamic in Jim and Pam's relationship so perfectly - where he wants to protect her instinctively yet always wants to make a joke and make her smile too - that balance between the serious and funny sides of his personality is rarely struck accurately yet you do. The details about the camera and the soundtrack in his head really rang true to me and felt like a glimpse into their world which we don't often see on camera.
The scene the following morning melted my heart - his excitement about the baby kicking and the realisation that ultimately that's what they would remember, not the intruder - PERFECT. I loved The Igloo too and really look forward to reading more of your take on Pam's pregnancy - the tone of your stories is warm, intimate and so them. :)

I adored this prequal (sp?). There's always been something fascinating to me about the idea of Pam and Jim's home being broken into...that sounds REALLY odd and strange and just...weird. But I think they would react to the situation exactly as you've described. I think Jim finding her to be "more" pregnant in the morning and Pam wanting to scrub things down are so, so real. I wrote a chapter similar to this in my Babytalk series where their home is broken into...there's just something universal about the emotions you feel when something like that happens. Great job here. Please feel free to grace us with your writing ANY TIME. I love it.

I really love both this and The Igloo. I'm a sucker for "Jim to the rescue" type stories :)

Very cute. I'm glad no one got hurt... I found it so hot Jim ran after them, is that weird? lol

You know, I could actually see this happening in an episode. It's new and different - so thank you! And I love the reference to Run Lola Run.
