This is one of the most perfect first-date stories I've ever read. The way you wrote their nervousness, their trepidation, and most of all, their happiness that at last, they are finally together...everything about this was just perfect and wonderful.
My favorite part was their morning-after when he brushed her hair and the last section. It made my throat tightened because it's just Jim and Pam after everything they'd been through. It's simply just them.
Excellent job!

What a beautiful ending! I truly enjoyed the whole thing, but the ending, wow. You truly have a way with words!!!

Lovely. I have to admit that I was initially like, "Oh, another first date fic"--but this was AMAZING. Wonderful. So glad I didn't pass it by. :)

You made this feel so present and real with so many beautifully small gestures and subtle interactions. I could really feel their excitement/nerves through the words - loved the Neosporin, her unruly morning hair, his Scampi breath...all very in-character. Some wonderful lines too - this one especially caught my eye: But then she laughed, threw her head down until her hair tickled their laced fingers and they were Jim and Pam again, more than that and only themselves. Lovely. And the end, with him brushing her hair, hit just the right note of unexpected, but imaginable tenderness. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Hi, shortlatte! Seems you're new to these parts. If so, welcome!
I have such a soft spot for JAM first-date fics, especially those that feel fresh, as this one does. What I like most about this is that it's real--an extra coat of anti-perspirant, garlic breath--all those things that normal humans have to deal with. I could absolutely envision Jim brushing Pam's hair--and enjoying it! Such a sweet detail.
I hope Reflections if the first of many fics from you.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's true, I'm new to the world of fanfic (the writing end at least), so it's wonderful to hear that someone has enjoyed what I've come up with. There are so many different ways to envision even simple little exchanges, let alone an event as important as this one, but I've always been partial to the ones that feel like real-life, so I tried to evoke that a little : )
