What a lovely story. I loved how even in their happiness Jim reflects back to how it used to be for Pam:
"Jim suddenly got sad for a moment, thinking of all the years, even before he knew her, that Pam had spent doubting herself and putting herself last, lacking confidence and settling for a life of unhappiness and shattered dreams, seeing it as her piece of the pie. He wondered how many times she had needed to hear that she was a good person, and had only gotten "you're mine" instead."

I have a feeling not only am I gonna stick my kid with a ton of my old books, but also my mom's old books (which she left me also).I'm a huge fan of books. I slowly weed out a lot of them, but I've gotten to the point where the ones I have mean a TON.

Norsk, this was a lovely, sentimental story. Having always been a big reader, and a mom who loved to read to her little one (who is now a teenager), this story really moved me and took me back. It had just the right amount of humor to keep me from melting into a puddle of goo.

Okay the literary obsessed fangirl is freaking out on the other end here. I am IN LOVE with this story, forever and always. Really, really, great, this will become a favorite of mine. Thank you so much for this adorable creation.

Oh this was lovely. Are you a teacher by any chance? Or just a lover of children's lit? This was quite nice. I loved Jim's commentary and his thoughts on how he wanted his kids to know they were wonderful people.
