I really like that there was a point where Jim thought of the term "Push Gift" as creepy--because I'm a little put off by the term too. LOL But I do love the concept of one... *goes to demand Tiffany's bracelet from boyfriend in regards to future children* :D
Author's Response: hahaha...yes I think that's basically how I feel too. I can get behind the idea of some sentimental type of gift...but to term it a "push gift" turns it into something so trite and materialistic...damn the media. Happy that I got to make fun of it a little! :-)

Oh I love how this is something Kelly springs on him. And poor guy, can't do anything right. Pam being a bit irrational makes sense, especially since when she's tired she can get 'a wee bit shrill'-- and there's MORE? Oh happy day.

I just heard of the Push Gift like two months ago when my cousin's husband got her a necklace. I had to laugh when I read this, because I said to my mom when she told me about the PG (as I referred to it), "Isn't the baby the gift you get for pushing?" So yeah, it's good to know I fall on the Pam side of thinking instead of the Kelly side of thinking.
This is all kinds of adorable and love. Seriously, that last line is pretty much the sweetest line ever.

Author's Response: Yeah, I must say I'm with you and Pam...Not that I would turn down a gift, mind you! But the way it's always described in the media is so "demanding" (for lack of a better term). Some girls were talking about it on the boards and about how in their families things of more of a sentimental value have been passed down as gifts after a woman has a baby...THAT I can get behind.

I'll just state my ignorance for the record - I'm with Jim, I had never heard of such a concept before I read this. But the thought of pregnancy and childbirth....It's actually not a bad idea...;)
Poor Jim tries so hard. To the point where he takes advice from Kelly, that's got to be a new low! I'm in full Wedding/Baby Halpert excitement so thank you for continually supplying my addiction, I'm honestly really looking forward to more. But I have to say my favourite Google result was: Push Gift - How to make him pay.

Author's Response: hahaha! Oh man, so in my "research" for this I looked up Push Gifts on Google and so many funny sounding things came up. The ones in the story are my own - but definitely inspired by the wacky things I found there. I too am counting the minutes until the season starts! Thanks so much for reading!

Author's Response: Aw, I'm not sure I'm taking it anywhere (just can't seem to think of an appropriate push gift. :-) BUT, I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much. Maybe I'll come up with somethin! I think the idea of Kelly and Jim emailing or anything like that would be the ultimate in torture for Jim...so funny.
