If only this had happened on the actual show! Would have saved us all a heap of pain! This was great, I really enjoyed it.

What a lovely holiday treat. The juxtapositioning of the I’m sorry and don’t be in the two times they appear frame this piece so well and paint that perfect happy ending. Don’t know If you are still checking in for reviews but if you are... Thanks for sharing this sweet tale.
Author's Response: <3 thank you for your kind review! I’m glad you liked it!!

Now, THIS would have been a good ending to the teapot Christmas.
Author's Response: Hahaha 😀

So sweet! I really like this take on what Jim wrote in the card.
Author's Response: Thank you! I have always wondered what he wrote. I think he’d go out of his way to just skirt the edge of telling her everything so he could still fall back on plausible deniability if she didn’t return his feelings, hence, what I wrote.

I like this version of this kind of revelation, particularly because it gives Pam more agency at this stage. Nicely done.
Author's Response: Thank you!

I really enjoyed this! I agree with andtheivy, the line "it's just ....self preservation" is perfect. I can hear that particular bit of truth coming right out of Jim's mouth. The important dialogue is sparse - very fitting for them during that time.
Author's Response: Thanks so much!

Merry Christmas to all of us! Nicely done!
I especially like your imagining of what Jim wrote in the card -- it sounds like him, not quite laying it all out on the line.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! That was exactly what I was going for: something he could always back away from if need be. He wasn't quite to the "lay it all out" place quite yet!

I think the line "It’s..it’s just...self preservation" is my favorite. This is a really lovely story that begins and ends quietly, leaving room for possibility. Of course I'd love to know what happens next, what sort of conversations they have, but it's also so well stopped where it is.
Author's Response: Thank you <3

Excellent fic, Sarah. I could envision this happening...and if only it had! Really well done. And was the "self-preservation" comment a nod to Love Actually? Love it :)
Author's Response: Thank you, lovely <3 it was not an intentional nod, but I'm sure that's what put it into my subconscious!
