I really loved that layout :) Ahhh this is so frustrating, but in a good way. I want them to secretly date, and have her "date" guys for the show, but after work they're a couple LOL
Author's Response: Less frustrating soon. Not next chapter but very soon. But you know this and I don't want to give anything away! :D

Best chapter yet--the time format, the pace, everything. I'm feeling so anxious right now, and that's all because of you. Yeah, I'd say this worked ;) All this great fic is making me so happy!
Author's Response: Oh my god, thank you! I really did not expect that. It's always when you least expect people to not like things that they do.

Oh wow! First... so excited to see the update! I swear I no longer have ANY patience! I really loved how this chapter started and I thought, yes, this is the chapter where tey are really going to start things for real. But then I was so incredibly sad by the end of it.
The stuff about them each getting up so early in the morning just to be able to go in and spend a solid hour of uninterrupte time together, that was so sweet. Showing them taking those steps to get in some time however they can. It was really cute that Jim went so far as to leave then, taking the evidence of their meeting with him, then buying coffees for the crew and meeting him downstairs as if he had never even been there. Oh and her having Jim stand there while she draws a picture of Dwight, priceless! I mean, you can't tell me that by that time she doesn't have a stack of drawing of Jim somewhere anyhow that she could whip out and show him. Really good play on Dwight coming in and picking up the expense reports for Angela, neat that you worked that into the storyline and it was a good way to have them get 'caught' but no way would Dwight tell because he is more desperate for no one to know he was there than he would be to tell anyone that he saw them there.
Anyhow, my heart sunk when he first read te email saying about the dating stuff with Pam but I thought, oh,he'll find some way to pull her aside privately and work something out. I wasn't really concerned when he was asking the guys in the office about her, the only real concern at all would be Toby, but that wouldn't really go anywhere becase, well, they just aren't a match. The thing is, I get the idea that Pam thinks Jim might be interested in her, but she just can't be sure. She doesn't know really how to classify what this is that they are doing and she still isn't a real confident person yet. So, she thinks there is interest, but she knows it's not allowed and she questions probably why any guy would risk anything especially his job, for her. I think this probably all goes into her thought when she is trying to figure out just what she and Jim are doing. Sooooo... I think Jim coming up to her so casually, with an office full of people, and saying that they want to see more of her with guys and dating, that's probably all it takes to convince Pam that she had it all wrong all along. She is probably asking herself how she ever thought that some producer from Ca would ever be interested in her anyhow and all the doubts creep in and any confidence she had drains and it just makes me so. sad. You know, theres a big part of me that thinks Jim feels he doesn't really have to show his intentions, at least not right away because she has told him that her attempts at dating since Roy have flopped and I think she has conveyed enough for him to not feel threatened that she is even going to date much less meet someone because right now she jus isn't interested so he can sit back ad realy do nothing. It makes me think that maybe, just maybe he SHOULD see her going on some dates. Having some fun on them, not really connecting on a romantic level, but he doesn't need to know THAT. I think that would shake Ji up a great deal. I mean, he has had this thing for her ever since he first saw her on tape and it has grown a great deal since he has spent real life time with her. Maybe it takes him feeling threatened, like he's going to lose her if he doesn't make a move. Oh, I like how you put his thoughts... he knew there would come a time when he would have to pick between his job and Pam, (which shows how deeply he feels to feel he'll need to make such a drastic choice) but he never thought he would have to choose between some other guy having Pam and his job. I think that last part speaks to what I was saying about him feeling safe, like she isn't going to date/fall in love because she sn't interested so there is no other guy to think about.
Really great, if sad, chapter. I hope they can soon really find some solid footing, make a conection where they each truly know where they stand. I mean, if Jim IS truly felling for her, jobs, while they may not be EASY to come by, especially a producer job like that, there are jobs to be had all over. OTOH, if he truly thinks she IS something special, the person maybe he is meant to be with and maybe just maybe the whole reason for this trip was fates way of introducing each of them to their sould mate, well, there's only ONE sould mate out there... don't blow it Jim. I am WAYYYYY anxious for the next chapter(s)!!!!
Author's Response: Yay! You're back! Where to start... I think you will find the next chapters close to what you were thinking about Jim's thought process. And that's exactly what Pam is thinking, that maybe she isn't up to par for this producer. I really hope you like where this goes! And so happy that you are feeling good enough to leave me this wonderfully long reviews. They really make me smile.

I've been checking the site like a crazy person waiting for this update so YAY! I really enjoyed this chapter and how you worked in the events of "Traveling Salesmen" with the Dwight/Angela storyline. Can't wait for the daring stuff!
Author's Response: Thanks! So very glad you enjoyed. I love that I've turned you into a crazy person. I apologize only slightly. I know other people aren't so keen on season 3 episodes but that season is really my favorite.

This is such an interesting take on Jim and Pam's "story". And you've made it completely plausible. Great fun!
Author's Response: Thanks Mr Bill!

The way you wrote this chapter really pulled me in. The words as well as the flow were very realistic for Jim and Pam even though the setting is AU.
I really love that their attraction is so strong that each of them is taking risks to spend time together.
Cannot wait for the next chapter. Thanks for the quick updates.
Author's Response: Thank you, Jinx. I will definitely try my hardest to keep it up! And that risk taking will continue for them.

Well, first, gotta confess, Learning is absolutely one of my favorite stories! It's amazing!
Next, {please insert my squeal of excitement here}, I love this story as well! You are doing such a wonderful job pacing this. Brave, but not too brave, Pam is awesome. And Jim, I really want to be a professional, but not too much, because I really do have a crush on you, is so adorable. I like that Pam's workmates Dwight and Ryan have already picked up on the buddy vibe between them also. Apparently, Jim's colleagues have also sensed Jim's affection for the receptionist also. I hope no one gets into too much trouble.
I cannot wait for the more fun stuff and of course, the more flirting you've promised!
Author's Response: Thanks Aivilo! :D That makes me so happy that you love both stories! You characterized perfectly what I was going with for Jim and Pam. I will try to update very soon.

I'ml oving this. My ONLY thing I have an "issue" wit, s I can't see the camera guys and crew being such jerks when it comes to Jim and Pam. I can imagine them being more, "dude, just be careful," type thing.
Other than that, I'm LOVING this so much. You really are so good with AU's.
Hope they kissss sooon :)
Author's Response: Thanks Hannah! Love that you're loving this. I'm addicted to AU's. I'm just constantly thinking up new ideas for them (seriously, no joke). For your one issue, notice that only one camera guy, Nick, is on Jim's case. The others haven't said anything because they either haven't seen anything or don't care enough to say anything because they don't see it as a big deal. We will eventually get to a chapter when we find out if anyone knew at all and who if so. This will be a major part in the whole breaking the fourth wall reveal.

Interesting premise, but the execution of the idea is what really grabbed me. Your portrayal of Pam in this universe seems very viable and quite melancholy. And Jim is beginning to take more shape with their interactions. I look forward to reading the next chapter.
Author's Response: Oh! Thank you so much, aurora! There will be more Jim stuff very soon that will help flesh him out more.

ACK! I tried to write a review and accidentally pressed something and lost the whole thing. Sorry I've been MIA> I've been extremely ill and just not up to reviewing or much of anything. I still need to finish reviewing your last work of art, you really did an awesome job with it!
I really love this new concept! You really do such an awesome job of thinking up these different concepts and like in the last story and here, things that are really taboo, a guy falling in love with his brother's girl and now a producer falling for a subject in a documentary. You do such a fantastic job of working your way around the obstacles, I can't wait to see how you do it here.
I love how it's so innocent, loved the scene with them outside at lunch talking and then the scene where she blurts out in the interview room about lunch and then tries to cover it up but it all just gets akward eding with Jim seeming kinda short with her. Then he makes it up to her by meeting up after work to go eat. The scene in the diner, it's so them for things to be hot and cold over and over. I love how he tells her, 'I like you' then was sa when he kinda crushed her by adding 'as a friend.' Hopefully it won't take long for her to realize that he likes her as a lot more than a frien and for him to realize she feels the same way. I figure she's got to invite him to dinner at her place soon. No one going to walk in and catch them there. I'm just wondering at the end of it all, he lives in CA and she lives in PA so I wonder how they will solve the distance problem. Great GREAT new story! CANNOT wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: Hey, ftmill16! So sorry to hear that you've been sick. I hope you feel better soon. I missed your long reviews. You're right, I didn't even realize that I'm doing the taboo relationship stories. lol. And I can tell you that it won't take long at all for them to realize that they like each other and admit it.
Date: March 02, 2011 01:40 pm Title: Forget about the office
This chap just flew by! I really enjoyed it. Their sweet awkwardness toward each other feels real, and the element of danger--of their getting caught--is rather exciting. I'm invested, so please keep the updates coming :)
Author's Response: Yay! I have officially sucked you in! Another update very soon. I'm thinking Friday.

Gah! Killing me with the ending. Just be brave, Jim. Be brave.
I really like the interaction with the characters. Nick is good. I'm trying to figure how hard-ass he'll be when he finds out about this little dalliance. I think you're moving things along at a really nice pace. It's believable, this developing relationship. Thanks for the speedy posting!
Author's Response: Thanks Vampiric Blood! Nick will play an important role when everything comes to a head...

I'm so enjoying this story. And I like how you are slowly building Jim's and Pam's connection...still tentative, but obviously something there.
Author's Response: Thanks, Mr Bill! So glad you're reading. Their connection in the next chapter will take a bigger step. I hope you enjoy.

Oohh I like the Jim and Pam interaction you've started here. And Pam's description of Michael's brain taking the scenic route, I don't think I've ever heard Michael described better. I am looking forward to more, more office characters on camera and absolutely more Jim and Pam flirting too!
Author's Response: Thanks Aivilo! More characters soon. I'm just working on the getting to know yous for Jim and Pam and then we will dive in head first with the rest of them. I'm really excited if you can't tell! :D
Date: March 01, 2011 10:37 am Title: Ready to Start
This is getting more and more interesting. Poor Pam, running into Roy and his new wife (interesting twist there!) and investigating on-line dating. Pam and Michael's interactions feel authentic, as does Pam's budding relationship with Jim. I'm feeling myself getting sucked into this :)
Author's Response: I'm so excited that you're getting sucked in! I adore writing Pam and Michael. They're just too much fun.

The Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper? SO SO Michael LOL. I can really picture him asking her to make him that.
Jim and Pam flirting is so cute, and I love how he's kinda clumsy.
Really excited about this :)
Author's Response: Thanks Hannah! There will be more flirting in next chapter!
Date: February 28, 2011 03:19 pm Title: Ready to Start
I liked this. Can't wait for Jim to break through that 4th wall!
I thought it was cute when Pam reeled herself back to rephrase the question when she answered Jim's question about online dating being her last hope. I also liked that he admitted that he asked about her online dating idea just for himself, not for the show.
Coupla things threw me, though. When Roy & his new wife appeared, I was just waiting for Jim to show up, so I had to reread the first part of that section a few times. I kept thinking they were in a conference room and Roy happened to be there. I thought Pam was meeting JIM's wife and I thought "Oh no." Maybe it was just me. I guess if I'd pressed on and kept reading, it would've been more clear. But a wee bit of scene setting at the beginning would have helped.
And at the end, when Jim said, Tell me about this guy no one seems to talk about? I didn't get it. I didn't remember anyone avoiding talking about Roy. It seemed strange to me that Pam would even know what he was talking about. Did you have something there before that you edited out?
Author's Response: Thanks for pointing that out. I thought it was clear that Michael was sending Pam to the store for soda, but I'll have to add in some extra stuff like a line before. The Roy thing at the very end... that was something very small that Michael mentioned in the video submission to Jim. I kind of put it in there as something Jim really shouldn't know but has possible watched that little piece of the video tape so many times that it has stuck with him. I apologize for any confusion. And i'll definitely have to go back and edit that a bit. Thank so much for reading and again so sorry for any confusion.
Date: February 28, 2011 03:01 pm Title: Ready to Start
That was so great. And eventhough it's an AU, they were so perfectly in character.
Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: Thanks! Few things make me happier in reviews than when people say they were in character.
Date: February 27, 2011 09:21 pm Title: Forget about the office
Glad to be reading a new story so soon after your last one was completed.
You AU ideas are very compelling and I look forward to seeing where you take us with this one.
What is the meaning/significance of the title?
Author's Response: Thanks Jinx! I really hope you like where it does eventually go.
So the title will be addressed in an actual chapter, but in short, for reality tv breaking the fourth wall means cast members and the crew interacting in a way that blurs the lines between cast and crew. Sometimes it's harmless like a producer appearing on camera to settle an issue and other times it's more significant and altering for the filming.
Date: February 27, 2011 07:44 pm Title: Who's Next?
I am looking forward to so many things in this new story. Like how will Jim's colleagues react to his push for the paper company. And also, his realtionships with his TV coworkers seem a little on the less-than-friendly side, so I hope to see some more background on his workplace situation.
And of course Jim and Pam time, always, always, always something to get excited over!
Author's Response: Hey Aivilo! I'm so glad that you're getting involved in the story! So you won't actually see that reaction from the initial push because we'll skip ahead in time, but I can say that it will be touched on in another later chapter as well as more workplace background.
Date: February 27, 2011 05:43 pm Title: Who's Next?
LOVING IT! Something different, and I can't wait to see what happens with Jim and Pam
Author's Response: Thanks! :) This is my first "show" story, so I'm kind of pumped about it! Hope it translates like that.
Date: February 27, 2011 01:42 pm Title: Who's Next?
Wow--you're back already, italianfood?! Very nice :) Off to a promising start. The end of this second chap has me wanting more.
Author's Response: Yep, back again! Chapter 3 should be up by tomorrow or maybe tonight if I can pull it together.
Date: February 27, 2011 05:15 am Title: Who's Next?
You do know how to keep the plot moving! I like it. I like the way you're developing Jim's character, too. Ambivalence already, and more ambition than he has in the show.
Author's Response: Thanks, Vampiric Blood! We'll start to delve into that ambivalence once Pam becomes a factor.
Date: February 26, 2011 06:34 pm Title: Forget about the office
I loved this. Interesting premise, well written - and a chance to relive the Jim and Pam magic all over again. Can't wait to read the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you, Monotreme! We will definitely get to relive the magic when they start the filming.
Date: February 26, 2011 06:51 am Title: Forget about the office
I am excited for more from you! You told such a lovely story in Would You Still Love Me. I look forward to this universe with all the other characters we enjoy!
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm excited about including everyone this time around. I haven't done that in awhile.
