This just keeps getting better! The banter in this chapter was simply awesome. I mean, I'd offer up details of what, specifically, in this chapter I found awesome, but I mean, the whole thing, top to tail, all of it was made from the good stuff.
Now, next chapter... A pub.... I'm hoping some liquid confidence will get some blanks about both of thier pasts filled in...

Yay, hotel! :)

Just read this chap for the third time. Can't tear myself away. Simply gorgeous.

In a fit of joy, NanReg breaks into her best running man Hotel? Hotel! Did you say hotel?! Hotel preceded by pub, which means alcohol! Woohoooooo!
Shorter chapter, yes, but any less delectable? Um, NO, definitely not. In fact, I think it's my favorite so far, with all the kissing and the banter and yet more antiquities. Jim's thoughts are so tortured and so...mmmm.... Dying for more. Dying, I tell you. The world may not have ended as predicted this evening, but I'm having my own kind of rapture up in here ;)

The ground reels under his feet; he feels drunk and concussed and wonderful. Unhurried, grateful, sloppy kisses, slow explosions of color and light behind his eyelids. This is happening.
You sure make it feel like it is.
Concussed is so apt - Jim seems hit upside the head, both awakened (something inside him roars back to life) and thrown totally off kilter. And I'm loving growed up Pam, owning it. You make the momentum here so tangible, this particular place/mood so vivid. What's that you said about a pub? Feeling suddenly parched....

And can I mention how gorgeous your writing is? I just love that image of the lions looking down at them, knowing how Jim feels. The closing paragraph, too, is beautiful. I'd quote it but I'm on my Droid & it's too much of a pain in the arse...

Dude, come on. Stop being a tease and let them get jiggy ;) The way she kissed him, that was hot, and him asking if she'd got it out of her system, so loved it. Now, come on, give us the hotel scene ;)

And now I'm feeling all ambivalent about going back to the hotel room. Because, as much as I'd love to see some, uh, reconnecting, I'd hate to think of our Jim as a cheater.
Author's Response: Oh VB, trust your Auntie Annabel and hold the faith. Everything will be well.

Oh my GOD! He's with KAREN in this story!?! You are KILLING me here! I am checking for updates like a crack addict. I cannot wait to see what you have planned for us...

So, it's kind of driving me insane that you are keeping us totally shut out of Pam's thoughts. From a writerly perspective, though, I like it very much! It makes us share Jim's agitation and uncertainty about what's happening.
I was hoping that a NEXT button would magically appear when I got to this chapter (again). Alas, it still is not. Sometimes it does happen though ... the author posts hte next chapter while you're reading through. Maybe I'll hit the lottery tomorrow...
Author's Response: It was a couple of days later, Vampiric Blood, sorry! I kind of like sticking with Jim; I've done stories where I've switched POV and I've done a few from Pam's perspective, but only one other from Jim's.

I try to stick with completed stories because I don't like getting wrapped up in a story and then bam! I have to wait for another chapter to be written and then posted. *sigh*
I want to know about Jim's sad years. And Pam's apparent feelings for him (aka "THAT Jim?"). And how this story gets to be an M-rating. Is there such a thing as a smut-whore?
And what charity does Jim work for? And what does he do there? And, gosh, I can't wait for Pam to be his date at the dinner and to listen to him speak. That will be all kinds of awesome.
I wish I knew how to add a "tracking this story" or make a "story alert" for this. Guess I'll just stick it under Story Favorites and check every day for an update. E-v-e-r-y day. But no pressure, or anything. :)
Author's Response:
madmen fanatic, thank you so much! All these questions will be answered, I promise!

Keeping us on our toes is what you do best, isn't it? I'm with Pam; I'd love to hear more about Jim's past. Why does he skim over it? Can't wait for more, Annabel!
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, he'll have to come back to it eventually, won't he?

::heavy sigh:: As expected, I'm haunted by the ending of this chap. Jim is so screwed. You're probably familiar with this song, but I'll link it anyway, "just in cases" ;) http://youtu.be/E8cMy-Jmoso

LOL--just read Sally's review :D See? General consensus says Annabel's a meanie : p

You are so mean! I knew I shouldn't have read this before bed, on a Sunday night no less! How am I ever going to get to sleep now with all this kissing amidst the antiquities?! *sigh* totally delicious

Oh, you are evil to end things right here! I want more! I thought we'd have some kind of revelatory moment at the Rosetta Stone. Of course, there's probably NEVER a quiet moment at the Rosetta Stone, so it wouldn't have fit the mood of the chapter.
I'm looking forward to the rest our our day at the museum ... and dinner ... and going back to the hotel room!

What happened in his fast forward... You're mean, and get joy out of leaving us waiting lol :)

Another great chapter! I love that Pam didn't let Jim joke his way out of the real explanation of what happened in his life. I love a story with a strong Pam!
She should stay there with him as long as it takes to turn THAT Jim into HER Jim!

Oh yeah! That was awesome! Nice job with the kiss, and I loved this line, "“Since you’ve decided to be difficult,” she says, “then yes, I guess I’ll just have to entertain myself with these unimpressive ancient works of art.” lol.
And I really love the British Museum, it's just amazing. I'm so glad that I've got my photos that I've taken there to remind me of the day I spent there. Here's an idea for place for them to hang out later in this afternoon: St. James Park (or Hyde or Green Park!). They're all attached to one another and very close to Buckingham Palace, which is close to Big Ben, the Jubilee Bridge and the London Eye. Those are pretty touristy areas, but the parks are nice, and they could go buy some tea and scones with clotted cream and jam (just not a full english breakfast, which is gross) and then sit and talk in the park. And maybe, just maybe, Pam could find a sketch book and draw Jim as they sit and talk in the park? That could be kind of sexy/romantic... just some ideas, sorry to bombard you, I just really love London!

I love this story! Keep the chapters coming!

Humina Humina!!! Very nice. Jim opening the door part of the way, but holding some info back. And then Pam taking the lead. Also, I am in love with this line:
"It is like pulling apart a magnet to move a step away from her, but he does it."

Um, not to be too needy, but I am pretty sure that poor Pam is turning into a prune in that shower by now. She should be getting out soon!
Author's Response: She's out! :D

Annabel,
What a pleasure to see you writing again! (Seeing your name reappear inspired me to reread your past works. Oh, how you've been missed!) I'm very much enjoying this story and curious to see where it goes.
Author's Response: Aw, thank you, WhatAWaste!

I finally got a chance to read the latest chapter. I was grinning the whole time. You are so spot on with their thoughts and dialogue. I am loving this.
Author's Response: Thank you so much!
