Thanks for the update and can't wait for another quick one. Love how Jim wanted to be a gentleman. Roy is driving me nuts but I love how Pam is staying strong with him.
Author's Response: You're welcome and thank you for your review! Roy's driving me nuts, too. Make sure you check out chapter 10, it's Roy free!
Date: July 31, 2011 09:09 am Title: Chapter 9
No garbage here. I'm enjoying the anticipation. Love that he brought her flowers. Such a gentleman
Author's Response: Thank you! He is such a gentleman. I just posted their date last night!
Date: July 30, 2011 08:54 pm Title: Chapter 9
I might be as excited for the date as Jim and Pam are...
I figured that despite Pam making it very clear that she was no longer interested in Roy, that he'd still try to convince her otherwise. I'm so happy that although she is trying hard not to hurt his feelings, she isn't letting that keep her from the forward profession her life was taking before he and his sob story landed on her doorstep.
I love the contrast she gets to make by going out with sincere gentleman Jim.
I'll be stalking around here tomoro, looking for that update you promised...
Author's Response: I'm excited, too, maybe even more than Jim and Pam, if that's possible! :)
Thank you for your review and for your continued support of the story! I plan on writing the next chapter this evening.
Date: July 28, 2011 09:35 pm Title: Chapter 1
great to see an update here
Author's Response: Thank you! And thanks for taking the time to review!
Date: July 27, 2011 11:47 am Title: Chapter 8
Ah! Thanks for posting so quick! You rock! I love their honesty here, that they can actually be upfront and say "I want to be with you" is just perfect. I love that even though he was upset about her letting Roy stay, he didn't over-react to the news and held her calmly as she teared. I love the part that he found her loyalty to her family adorable. I'm looking forward to the date, and how the two of them handle Roy as he tries to get his life together. I'll be refreshing the site on my phone this weekend looking for another update! :-)
Author's Response: As always, thank you for your lengthy review, it means a lot! I had toyed with the idea of Jim being really upset about Roy staying there, but it just didn't come out right. I just added chapter 9, make sure you check it out, and chapter 10 (AKA The Date) should be up tonight (Sunday).
Date: July 26, 2011 09:35 pm Title: Chapter 8
I love it! I like how excited Jim was to go to work and see Pam again, but since he wanted her face to be what greeted him when he got to the office, he used his extra time/ energy to do something nice for her. I think that really shows off the difference between Jim and her former fiancé.
I really found the banter between them to be very fun. I think it really shows how fun and easy their relationship can and hopefully will be.
I am so so so so happy that even with Roy crashing at Pam's house for a couple of weeks, since they both acknowledged that they want to be together, they are moving forward with the new relationship. I'm hoping that since Pam will be busy hanging out with Jim while Roy is living on her sofa, Roy will get the point that she has moved on and he should do so as well.
Really though, I have to wait all the way til the weekend for more?!? Aww man! (I look forward to it!!!)
Author's Response: Thank you as always for your long review. I appreciate every one of them. I'm really glad you're enjoying this story.
Date: July 26, 2011 02:43 pm Title: Chapter 8
So glad you posted this!
He didn’t want to arrive too early as he liked to get there after Pam. There was something about her being the first one he saw when he walked in that got his day off to the perfect start. Now if that isn't adorable, I don't know what is :)
Looking forward to their date!
Author's Response: I know, isn't Jim adorable? Thanks for your review, as always. I just posted a pre-date chapter last night and the date should be up Sunday night. Enjoy!
Date: July 26, 2011 08:01 am Title: Chapter 7
Aw! A dedication! You're so sweet! I'm so thrilled you were able to update, thanks for this so so much! I'm really proud of this confident Pam we have here! I'm a little worried at how Jim will take the news that she's letting Roy stay for two weeks. The thing I love the most is how smitten Pam is with Jim, that in her quiet to herself moments before and after dealing with Roy, she's thinking about kissing Jim. I hope you've got the next chapter ready to go today! Looking forward to reading more!
Author's Response: Thank you for your review, as always, and for your continued support of the story. I like how my AU version of Pam became fancy and new on her own, before Jim was in her life.
Date: July 26, 2011 05:57 am Title: Chapter 7
This is so unbelievably weird. Sometimes when I review on my iPad, when I post the review is incomplete. So now I forgot what I said last night. Grrrr. I know I was really happy to see an update from you. I missed Jim, too, but this glimpse into Pam's mind and the resultant angst of Roy's visit is intriguing. More! /greedy ;)
Author's Response: Damn technology! Thanks for coming back and re-reviewing, it means a lot to me!
Date: July 15, 2011 09:28 am Title: Chapter 1
I hope you are feeling better!
I'm still with you and nice little twist you threw in there!
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I am feeling better, two weeks without a migraine! Knock on wood!
Date: July 15, 2011 08:20 am Title: Chapter 1
Also, hope your headaches go away! Feel better soon!
Author's Response: Thanks! The migraines have stopped for now, haven't had one in about 2 weeks, so knock on wood.
Date: July 15, 2011 07:36 am Title: Chapter 6
Woohoo! A kiss from Pam! I like when Pam is a little assertive, and I love how dumbfounded Jim is by the whole thing too. Nice way to work in Fancy New Beesly too. Can't wait for more, and I'm excited to see assertive Pam handle annoying drunken clingy Roy. :)
Author's Response: Thank you. You always give such great reviews. I know my AU Pam is different from season 2 Pam, but I figure my Pam is more coinfident than season 2 Pam as she was able to leave Roy without the push from Jim. However, I think there is still the possibility for season 2 Pam to pop up here and there.

First off, so sorry that you haven't been feeling well, and I really appreciate your posting this. Loved it. Did not expect the smooching but yay! I hope your headaches give you a break (and not just because I love updates) ;)
Author's Response: Thank you! I am feeling better, 2 weeks migraine free! Yahoo! Chapter 7 will be up shortly and I am already working on chapter 8!
Date: July 15, 2011 04:16 am Title: Chapter 6
I'm so glad to see you back with an update! I like that this AU has Pam making the first move. And also glad that since Jim is leaving Pam's apartment with Roy in it, he was able to leave knowing how she felt and where he stood with her.
I hope those pesky headaches stay away and we get another update soon!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I like Pam making the first move, too. She deserves to have a little fun sometimes too, right? And, the headaches have stayed away, so yay for that!
Date: June 29, 2011 02:06 pm Title: Chapter 5
Things were going so well! Damnit Roy and your timing! I'm so happy that you're continuing this! I love the bantering between them, it sounds so very Jim and Pam like. Now I need to know what Roy could possibly want that he needs to interrupt Pam and Jim right that second. I love the detail you added - that her neighbor that Pam's TV is too loud. I'm really enjoying this! Hope real life calms down for you and you can get back to quick updates! :)
Author's Response: So sorry it took me so long to respond, but thanks for your awesome review!
Date: June 29, 2011 06:56 am Title: Chapter 5
I really enjoyed this chap--great chemistry! No garbage here--a little tension is a good thing :D
Author's Response: Thnak you for your review. Sorry it took me so long to respond!

I was really glad to see a new chapter of this story go up. I hope the wait for the next one isn't as long because that was a great chapter with a cliffhanger for an ending. I can't wait to see what happens next with Roy showing up unannounced. I agree that the story is better with it not being to easy for Jim and Pam, but I hope you don't drag out the angst for too long. On second thought, if that means more chapters of your story then bring it on!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! My personal life is calming down, so I'm thinking there won't be a long wait before the next chapter. I hate that I went with the cliffhanger, but it just seemed like the best place to end it. We will get to see what happens with Roy in the next chapter, I promise!

Any story that can incorporate The Dundies is a plus to me. I like the friendship that is growing between Jim and Pam.
Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to review. I was worried about going AU on the Dundies, so I'm glad you liked it!
Date: June 02, 2011 06:10 am Title: Chapter 1
Just had the pleasure of reading chaps 3 and 4. I like your spin on this relationship. Interested to see what you have up your sleeve :D
Author's Response: Thank you for your kind review! I'm back on a writing kick, so hopefully chapters won't be so far and few between from now on.
Date: June 01, 2011 08:29 pm Title: Chapter 4
I'm so late in reviewing but I love this fic. It's nice to see some of season 2 revisited but with an AU spin. Looking forward to what happens next.
Author's Response: Thank you for your review!

I really enjoyed this chapter. I really enjoy AU versions of the actual episodes and you are doing a great job with this story. I hope it doesn't take until Casino night for them to get together. Can't wait for the next update!
Author's Response: Thank you for the review! When I started writing this, I had a basic outline and timeline in my head, but now it's getting away from! Uh oh! But don't worry, it's not going to take until Casino Night!

Nicely done, incorporating what happened at the Dundies into this AU! You really made it your own, I like that a lot! Needy Roy is worrying me. He still has the power over Pam to make her doubt herself and feel bad about herself, poor girl! I like how she's mildly aware that she likes Jim and questions if he liked that she kissed him after winning her award. Keeping the cameras there at the end really was a good choice, and I like the insight you gave in that small part of what she was contemplating asking Jim. I especially like the end, that she was watching him as she rode home in Angela's car, reminded me of the end of the episode and Tiny Dancer, which will always be my favorite song, and Dundies will always be my favorite episode. (Not that I don't adore married with a baby Jim and Pam, but nothing beats those early episodes.) I'm really enjoying this and can't wait to read the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks for the great review. I was worried about going AU on such a favorite episode so I tried to keep alot of the storyline intact. I always felt that Pam would not have gotten completely wasted, and then kissed Jim, if it hadn't been for her fighting with Roy, so I had to find a way to keep that in. Needy!Roy, worries me, too, and I'm the one writing him! I always felt that Roy was needy, we just didn't see it. My main point of reference for this was him not letting Pam take the internship in season 2, because despite his macho demeanor, he's secretly super needy.

This is a really great chapter. I like how you've shown Pam's desire to move on mixed with her fear of not being strong enough to do so. That seems very in character for her...especially since she has the added burden of living in a new town, working at a new job and having only made one friend. I love the call back to the Dundies. I could picture the whole thing so perfectly. Jim watching the car pull away...that sad, wistful smile on his face..."Tiny Dancer" playing in the background. Sigh. I love married/family JAM and I'm still really enjoying the show but those first few seasons...with all the love and angst and desire...there was just something magical about them. And you've managed to capture a bit of that in this chapter.
Author's Response: Wow! Thanks for the awesome review! I really tried to stay in character despite this being an AU. I think it's really easy to write Pam in character in the early seasons because she was so unsure of herself. And, the "Tiny Dancer" scene at the end of the Dundies is one of my most favorites, it's just so sad, yet hopeful at the same time.

Aw, I was hoping that Jim would get to ask her out, but I guess you're not going to make this easy on us lol I like this a lot and I'm looking forward to your version of the Dundies now that Pam's broken up with Roy. I really can feel the tension from Jim as I'm reading. I like that you're able to still keep a good level of angst even though Roy and Pam aren't together, you still have Pam fighting against herself and trying to move on from that oaf. Anyways, hope you have more for us soon!
Author's Response: Thank you for your kind review. Next chapter should be up shortly!
Date: May 23, 2011 07:16 pm Title: Chapter 3
Aw. Poor Jim and Pam! Keep going, K love the tension! And definitely the fact that Pam's not with Roy (and doesn't want to be!) How did I miss the first two chapters? I really liked this! Keep it up!
P.S. My only complaint is how short the chapter was!
Author's Response: Thank you for your review! Apparently, I enjoy writing tension, who knew! I know this chapter was short, but it felt like it was a good spot to end it and I didn't want to try to add more and have it just be filler.
