Hi1 *waves* still with you! Wow, first, the image of Jim's ring fitting around his son's wrist? That gave me chills. I love the how insistent Pam was about seeing her son, that would be me, no doubt. I adore your Cece so so much. There's something about these chapters that feels so personal, like I know Jim on this whole other level. I love it. Love it love it and can't wait for more. So, in short, I'm so still with you!

Absolutely still with you. So great feeling that I'm a member of the Halpert extended family and am receiving these emails from my nephew. How easy it is to love this little family and look forward so much to his updates. Thank you for writing this on his behalf!

Happy Birthday, Ben!! Enlightened Jim here at the end of this, where he realizes what matters in his life, it's not only poignant, but I can completely hear him saying it. This is yet again a wonderful chapter, I truly love the adoration they both have for their children. The big sister t-shirt is so cute, and I think it's adorable that Cece tells anyone and everyone that she's a big sister. So sweet! I'm hoping that things are going to get better from here and Ben will grow stronger. Looking forward to lots more of this!!

Dedeen, I read this with a lump in my throat.  This poor family!  Jim's interactions with Cece are so achingly sweet.

You made me cry with all of his questions at the end. :( Poor Cece. I love how they actually take their child's sadness seriously and don't brush it off. They're such good parents. I love this. More please!

Author's Response: I hope it was a good cry! This is a situation that is hard on everyone, specially Cece - who doesn't understand why mom and dad are always away. I wanted to touch on that subject and I hope I did it justice. Thanks for the reviews and I'm anxiously waiting for an update on Fault lines... Yup, I said it! So, go back to work lady!

Great job bringing in both sides of Pam considering that strong alternative drug. The thought of Jim losing the baby or Pam is a tough one. I understand the "Mom" in Pam though doing anything to protect her child. Great job!

All I have to say about this, is that I love it, and I'm so glad to come home from vacation and find new chapters :)

Hi! I'm so sorry I missed this when it was originally posted. Between work and trying to get back to my own story, I have been MIA around these parts for almost 2 weeks. Anyways, first, I love the name Benjamin James. Poor little Cece she's just trying to have fun with her mom and she gets yelled at. I can totally see it all happening, the defeated look on his face as his heart breaks when his daughter cries for Pam. Poor kid! Very believable by the way. Every kid gets jealous of a new baby, this was really spot on accurate. I love his life is good slogan, how he can find that part of optimism amid all of the negativity with Pam's health is very Jim like, even though he's super concerned. Moving along to the next chapter...

Very emotional chapter for Jim and Pam. This part really got me: “I haven’t even met him and he already has such a big part of my heart.”
“Pam, he is ours.” My Ben. My boy. My son. You can really feel how afraid they are and how much they love their kids. And then at the end when they learn that the contractions have stopped? Their reaction had me smiling. Beautiful :) Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

Another masterpiece! Bringing a second baby into the picture is a delicate process, add in the stress of a difficult pregnancy. It felt exactly how Jim and Pam would have handled it. Can't wait for more.
