I'm just finding this and it was incredibly vivid and just...amazing. Absolutely fantastic. You really captured that scene, but in a new and interesting way. Great job.
Author's Response: Glad you found it, Smurfette :) This one was so atmospheric -- it was a very sensory experience to write it. Thanks!

So, I've been catching up on the archive here, slowly but surely. Bizarrely, I was listening to the Amelie soundtrack when I came across this story. It's sensual and sexy and so beautifully written. And the first time he said "Not yet." my brain actually went "Whuh." Gorgeous.
Author's Response: Listening to Amelie? It was meant to be! I really wanted to capture the sensuality of that scene. Hope it worked! Thanks, Paper Jam :)

That was just....amazing....I realized after finishing it that I was actually holding my breath! Like seriously holding my breath! I could just hear the house music pounding and see the strobe flashing throughout the whole thing.....I've got Amelie Tivo'd at home and I'm making a long-delayed date with myself to screen it tonight, but it will pale in comparison! Great atmosphere - terrific job!
Author's Response: Thanks a lot, simpatica! Enjoy Amelie ;)

Amazing, simply amazing. This: his scent her air, his heartbeat her time. ....Incredible. As usual, this is just astounding stuff - your prose flows like poetry, I swear.
Author's Response: Thanks, girl7 - I really appreciate that! ;)

Whoa.
I'm back again. Reading your stories once more, and I picked a heck of one to come back to. I have to go to bed now, (to sleep haha) and what an image to go to sleep to. Whew. Greatness you are.
Author's Response: OK, tabitha sounded like Gollum and you sound like Yoda. Is this what I bring out in readers?! Just kidding - thanks so much, justy - sweet dreams ;)

Wow. Haunted indeed. So well written (as usual), and very captivating. Haunted houses are designed to make participants jumpy, but Pam is just so calm here.
Author's Response: Thanks, Luna! They make me jump, but I imagined Pam beginning to see things differently now that her life has changed so much. And I needed her to be a bit trancy to accept what happens.

omg, jim as nino is hot! oh dear god, that was great. whoa. ok, calm down. i loved the way pam's dream was triggered by all the couples in front of her. that was really cute. and then, the nino-inspired part- wow. and the ending was so perfectly sad :(
Author's Response: Glad you liked it, janelle! Amelie fan? ;)

SO good! Loved the imagery. Being Haunted never felt so good... or bad... and I agree with the review up there.. we can only hope that the next thing Pam would do is get out of the Haunted House and drive to Stamford! ;)
Author's Response: Thanks, j! I'm glad that conjured some good images for you ;)

Author's Response: Thanks, kaystar! ;)

Oh - how very lovely and sad.
In our reality, Pam would then leave the haunted house and drive to Stamford. ;-)
Very well written!

Oh wow. Someone else has already said it, but I love how there is almost no dialogue in this. It's also got a wonderful dreamlike quality. Great work!
Author's Response: Yeah, I don't much like dialogue during hotness, so... very little dialogue here ;) Thanks, Annabel!

Um. Wow. I've never seen Amelie, but if it's anything like this I guess I'd better rent it.
Author's Response:
The movie is great, and most of it isn't really hot, but that scene is nice. Thanks, Pixel! :)

Now that's what I call a haunted house. I also like the idea of Pam being haunted by Jim in a deeper sense. Perfect dose of sensuality - while leaving some of the heavy lifting to our imaginations.
Author's Response: Thanks, Colette! Glad it wasn't too heavy-handed. ;)

Haunted houses weren't quite like that the last time I went to one. Buy me a ticket, stat!
Seriously, this was shivers-inducing. You use sensory details so well.
Author's Response: Thanks, Lis! ;)

*shiver* You definitely captured the mood of that scene in Amelie, which is a delicious mix of the eccentric and the erotic. As for the story...you are amazing. This was fabulous. I personally enjoyed how few words were spoken.
Author's Response: Thank you, travelingviolet! Glad it was effective ;)

Holy shit. I'd love nothing more than to leave you a detailed and insightful review filled with meaningful notes, but you have left me at "holy shit". That's seriously the best I can do right now.
Author's Response: I'll take it ;) Thanks, GreenEyes!

I was just signing off - going to go to sleep and then my emailed dinged and there you have it. You pulled me right back in.
"Soon," he says.
Can you make sure NBC gets that memo????
Haunted indeed. You gave me the shivers. First because I HATE those kind of haunted houses and second because of...well...you know. ;) Hot and sad and just - shiver, shiver. Great job (as usual) Shan!
Author's Response: Thanks, Krissy! Boo ;)

When I saw that you'd posted something new, I actually bounced in my seat! Especially when I saw the 'sexual content' warning, because I'm perverted. This whole thing is so wonderful. Strangely, it reminds me of a scene in the movie Amelie, if you've ever seen it, where she's going through the haunted ride and Nino is behind her, breathing in her ear. It gave me the same loopy, slow kind of feeling. So great.
And this: "His body is warm (she thinks), firm (she feels), solid (she hopes)." Perfect, perfect, perfect. Absolutely.
Author's Response: OMG, I'm so glad you mentioned that scene in Amelie, because I meant to put that in my author's notes! That's what drove this fic. Thanks, proposals!
