solid story, good angst
Date: March 20, 2024 12:00 am Title: Chapter 17
omg your fics are so addictive!!! i really enjoyed this one because i liked the idea of them being confused about the meaning of jam, and the way that pam ended things with roy felt so on character! i'm so glad i found your account because rn i'm literally going to read another fic of yours, they're so addictive!!!!
Date: August 21, 2023 01:32 pm Title: Chapter 3
I'm surprised how many meanings can jam have. I aplaud you for coming up with them!

Very appropriate to finish this one up with a prank - they're still the same Jim and Pam they were, they're just more than that now.
Good job with this one! This was a solid exploration of a world in which they're trying to live out their lives while they're also being watched on television and what that might end up meaning for them.
Author's Response: Thanks so much! This fic is special to me, so I'm glad you enjoyed it! And I'm glad it came through well--including but not limited to the prank.
Date: November 28, 2020 01:42 pm Title: Chapter 16
I think the fact that this all comes together pretty quickly seems appropriate in this context - they're both in a place of such confidence and safety and Jim in particular has had so much to say for so long that it just makes sense.
Author's Response: Oh good! I always worry that the ending is going to feel rushed, especially on an earlier fic like this. Thank you!
Date: November 28, 2020 01:39 pm Title: Chapter 15
Ha! I was waiting for the Helene email to come back up.
Author's Response: Like Chekhov's gun, if I raised it I'm going to try to bring it back up...
Date: November 28, 2020 01:37 pm Title: Chapter 14
Okay, this was adorable, and I love this version of The Talk.
Author's Response: Thank you! I was leaning hard into adorable in this fic, or trying to.
Date: November 28, 2020 01:36 pm Title: Chapter 13
I love the recognition here that they have, in their way, really already been living a life together.
Author's Response: Right? I think that's a good thing for them to notice.
Date: November 28, 2020 02:29 am Title: Chapter 12
I loved the use of the life-changing event line here - Pam really does have a lot of coming down on her at once, and for some reason "she realizes that the life-changing event here is not that he’s in love with her. It’s that they’re in love together" just really sticks with me.
Author's Response: Aww, thanks. That's the kind of line I never know if it's going to land or not, so I'm glad it did!
Date: November 28, 2020 02:19 am Title: Chapter 9
I love the insight from Helene here... and I *really* love the choice to have talking to her mom instantly reduce Pam to a teenager again. I think too many of us know what THAT experience is like.
Author's Response: I think all of us feel that way at least a little! And I am a sucker for Good!Helene fics, so I decided to write one ;). Thanks!

I enjoyed this chapter, but I wanted to flag something - your Harry Potter reference did not go unnoticed.
Author's Response: Good eye! Yet another time my own fandoms come through...
Date: November 28, 2020 02:14 am Title: Chapter 6
A very solid and very accurate-feeling glimpse into the inner workings on Jim's brain on Pam.
Author's Response: Turnabout is only fair play, right? They have to have adapted to each other in both directions ;)
Date: November 28, 2020 02:08 am Title: Chapter 5
I love the moments you've built here of Pam realizing how much detail she's internalized about Jim.
Author's Response: Thank you! To me that's a really key part of their relationship: how much they have subconsciously and consciously adapted to each other already.
Date: November 28, 2020 02:08 am Title: Chapter 4
This is a solid chapter, sort of a microcosm of their entire love triangle - Roy fails to live up to some pretty basic expectations, sending Pam essentially unwittingly directly to Jim.
Author's Response: That is indeed how I see their dynamic, consistently. I really dislike Roy, if you can't tell ;)

The backstory you built out here is creative, and is an interesting look behind the scenes of the documentary. Feels like an important step to ground this story, considering that the way the documentary works is so fundamental to it.
Author's Response: Ironically, this may be the only fic I wrote where the documentary exists...but obviously I would be remiss not to point out that most of my take on it came from the work of GodInThisChilis on this site.

Strong start to this one! (I really loved Angela's complaints about liberation theology - VERY her.)
Author's Response: Thank you! God, going through all these fics at once really shows you what I'm nerdy about, doesn't it? And this is my very first fic (not counting one cowritten Tolkien fic in c.2003-4), so I'm glad it started out strong!

I read the whole story with a huge smile on my face that didn't go away even at the most awkward and angsty moments. I like this idea, and the realization is just perfect! And there were so many moments I adore — my favorite, probably, was when Pam thought that fire wasn't the best thing to build a relationship on.
Thank you for this sweet story!
P.S. It doesn't relate to the story, but I share Dwight's feelings toward 'The Hobbit' movies...
Author's Response: Thank you for going back and reading this old thing (this is literally the first fanfic I ever wrote for the Office)! I'm glad it held up. I also share Dwight's opinions...which is why I chose to write them in ;).

I really can't believe it took me this long to actually read this story. Lots of fun throughout really. This last chapter though? Pure gold. I laughed a lot when Helene put Pam in her place about the speakerphone. Great bit right there.
Author's Response: Thanks, warrior! This was my first fic, so it's really nice to hear you enjoyed it!
Date: January 09, 2019 10:02 am Title: Chapter 15
Wonderful story!! I love the angst and their moment happened so wonderfully. It's nice to see a story where its not just Jim feeling electric when he's touched by Pam, because sometimes it can be the other way around!
Author's Response: Thank you! Looking back at this (my first fanfic in over a decade) really takes me back...I'm glad you found it and liked it!

Oh, that was just so much fun! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us!
Author's Response: Thank you! It was really a pleasure to write, most of all because of your lovely responses to it.
Date: September 27, 2017 09:21 pm Title: Chapter 17
I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for writing it!! :)
I love that it ends with jam and JAM.
Author's Response: Thank you for reading! And it might be a little too pat but I started with jam/JAM and I wasn't going to finish without getting that last one in.
Date: September 27, 2017 09:17 pm Title: Chapter 16
"More than that." Love it. Just one more chapter? Seriously? [pouts]
Author's Response: I'm glad you've been enjoying. Thanks for sticking with me!
Date: September 26, 2017 10:27 am Title: Chapter 15
I'm glad she got through to him what she meant.
The emails...it's Mark's computer, so is it Mark emailing Pam's mom?
Author's Response: Jim's still logged into his email on Mark's computer, which he was checking while drunk. This will be clarified in the next chapter (which will include calling Pam's mom).

Yay!
Author's Response: :)

Ya know... I have been around mtt for a few years now, I have read nearly every jam fic we have...
And that ring, when mentioned, is always such a powerful symbol for both Jim and Pam.
To read it as *just a ring* for Pam is definitely something new (that I very much enjoyed) but with everything she's gone through in such a short period of time I can absolutely see how something that used to represent so much was completely overlooked and nearly forgotten.
And yet to Jim it was still practically all he could see.
Also, I love this determined Pam.
Author's Response: Thanks! Determined Pam is my favorite Pam. I'm going to give a little more of Pam's thoughts on the ring next chapter, but I do think at this point it's actually more significant to Jim because she's talked to Roy and he hasn't.
