I like this story very much. I'm not a fan of a darker reality (e.g., abusive!Roy), but you made it so good! And it's great that in this story some serious stuff discussed (honestly, I have no idea about dealing with domestic violence before). Hope you continue your fic!

This was such a sweet chapter. You capture all of their personalities really well! Great job. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

You’ve definitely captured the essence of an abusive relationship and the toxic thought processes that come with it, fitting it seamlessly into Pam’s inner monologue. I love the palm reading, especially Pam’s choice of including Roy and Dwight in addition to herself and Jim. Such a tiny detail holding such profound meaning.

I think that you strike such a good balance as far as depicting what this type of relationship is really like. Yes, sometimes there is objective and obvious horribleness. But sometimes it’s more subtle and scarring and that can be so hard to write. You already know that I think you do a great job with that and that’s no different this chapter.
I also think your dialogue is really believable. I can really hear each character saying the lines you’ve given them. Great job!

Two chapters! I was excited to see that. I like having chapters from Dwight’s point of view. He is a tricky character for me to write and I’m so impressed with how you nail his characterization. I find it totally believable that he would want to help a victim get out of an abusive relationship. GREAT job. Can’t wait to read more.

I love how you have these chapters set up as episodes with the sides from everyone! The ensemble is true to form, which is often hard to do. I can’t wait to see what Dwight has up bud sleeve!
Author's Response: Thanks! It's a lot of fun writing the asides/talking heads/whatever you want to call them. Thanks for the support, I'll try to keep it true to form going forward as well. :)

Just want to say that I think you have hit the nail on the head as far as train of thought/frame of mind in an abusive relationship. So much of that resonated with me and reminded me of my own experience. “He’s a good guy” “it’s my fault for not showing that” “I did something I shouldn’t have” “I owe him this because of something I did” are all things I thought in my own abusive marriage. This is such a tricky and heavy subject and I think you are doing it right. I look forward to seeing where you take things from here. Great job so far.
Author's Response: Thank you so much. It means everything to hear from someone else who has gone through stuff like that that I am doing it right. This story, Pam's experiences, are really built on my own. It's great to be free. :)

Great start! Thanks for contributing here, it’s always cool to see new authors. The tension between Jim and Pam was really well written and Roy’s anger seemed a little over the top but was definitely believable.
Author's Response: Thanks :)
