Author's Response: It being still fairly new into their dating relationship, I figure Pam doesn't have to work all that hard to get Jim to do something. Still it was a lot of fun to set them bouncing off each other so playfully. My wife's favorite Doctor is Ten so that's where that came from. Glad you liked it.

That was hilarious 😂😂😂 And yet very touching. I always wondered about Jim's brothers and got the impression they bullied him a lot as kids. I really like this one. Love that Jim gave a very believable explanation of his dislike of costumes. You're a wonderful storyteller d84;
Author's Response: Thank you! Halloween is always a fun time for sure. Pam clearly is always a fan of dressing up, but no so much Jim. I wanted to explore that as well as explore how they would transition into actually being a couple now that we're into the glory days of S4 and beyond. So why not pull in some of my own experiences and JAM-ify them up a bit? Glad you liked this one.

There's a lot to like about this one. It feels like a good slice of life of their relationship at this time - the realization that it's new but also already permanent, the joy at being able to be together and still be friends, the relief at finally being them again and at finally being able to say the things they've wanted to say, the opening up of parts of their lives that used to be closed. It's well done.
The backstory of why Jim doesn't wear costumes is pretty darn adorable - and who doesn't love Protective Older Brother Jim? The prank is terrific and feels very much like something that Pam would plan.
And also, I'm thrilled to see a Jonathan sighting.

Thank you. I had a lot of fun story. Adding in some personal experiences, letting Jim and Pam be BF/GF away from any cameras, and of course who doesn't love a good costume party. I often come back and re-read this one and yeah I like the prank too.
Cousin Jonathan makes several appearances throughout this series. Always fun to bring him in. Glad you liked it and again thank you for the reviews of older stories.

So cute! It is always fun to think about the early days of their dating relationship, when it would have all seemed unreal and giddily exciting. Nice idea and execution!
Author's Response: Why thank you. I had a lot of fun writing this one. Backstories are a lot of fun since at least to me leave wider canvas to write on. Who we are now depends heavily on who we were in the past. Why Jim goes for simple costumes and Pam's joy in wearing them so often just demands some explination. It was great fun to explore that. Thanks for the review.

Oh, this was delightful. I loved everything about it but of course, some highlights:
"Fancy New Beesly might be all gourmet, but Regular Old Pam wants donuts.” Amen, Pam. Amen.
Your interpretation of why Jim doesn't dress up was both cute and sad at the same time... his brothers were such jerks!
Okay, but the party? And Pam setting Ninja Jim up to save the day once again? Love, love, love! I kind of want one of those swords now too.
Author's Response: Thank you! It was a lot of fun to write this one. In my headcannon Jim and Pam play keep playing pranks like this on each other. Fun loving ones of course saving the real good ones for Dwight. Glad you enjoyed it.

Way to go for submitting the first Halloween contest fic! Here are a few great things from this story:
-That little subtle moment you slipped in there when Jim talks about when his "vision was...focused on other things."
-Ah! Devon! Great throwback.
-What great imagery you painted when describing the barn. I love fall and this was a great mental picture. :)
-Aw! Pam WOULD look for the sword for Jim in this story.
-Is "Jim's cousin Jonathan" an intentional shoutout to that early fanfic with Jim's brother Jonathan shows up frequently? If not maybe I'm just reading too much fanfic???
-Very cool picnic costume description!
Author's Response: Thank you. Yes, cousin Johnathan is a shoutout to early fics that had him cast as the brother. The Johnathan character in many of those early fics is generally a great character. Switching him from brother to cousin seemed like a great way to include him in my own works. I'm glad you picked up on that.
It was a lot of fun to write and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Adding in all the little throwbacks and moments along with some of my favorite fall memories was great fun.
