This was great. Doing a little mix and match of some of the great lines and scenes from the show was a lot of fun. Nothing like a life and death situation to get one to focus on what really matters. That you have Jim's first thought was to save Pam just shows how much he does truly care.
Then that last line at the end. Just icing on a great cake. Great first fic. Hope to read more from you going forward.

I particularly like how you conjure up (in this mashup of seasons and episodes) Jim's attitude towards Pam and Karen so well. I especially liked this line "He doesn’t let himself linger too long as to why that is – why she’s the only person in the office that he needs to know is safe." The willful ignorance is very Jim.

Jenna!! First of all, Slow Dancing... is one of favorite songs so by title alone, I was pretty sure this was going to be great. And it’s so great!
Loved the line about Karen being too focused on work to connect with him - that’s such a good way of explaining it. And the “the fire is shooting at us” paragraph? Ugh. Love that too.
Okay, so I loved all of it - right down to greeting card aisle and that very last line. You realize you’re going to have to write more stories now, yes? Okay good. :)
