This feels very true to Jim's mindset at this point in Season 2. You've captured his longing and his sense that he's mostly reached the end of the road, and walked us in a natural way through how he got the point of his plans on Casino Night.

Good explanation within canon compliance for why he might do what he did, and how confessing and going to Stamford get tied up together in his head. Thanks for sharing!

So well written! This was such an important episode for JAM, and Jim. I perosnally adore the scene where Jim tells Dwight that transderring won't be a bad idea; the defeat is written all over his face. You did a really good job bringing out those emotions!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It’s always nice to hear that, and encourages me to write more :)

This breaks my heart a little, but fits into the episode well! It’s nice to get into Jim’s head for these moments. I like what you added into the ending - using it as a catalyst to push Jim into considering Stamford really rounded it all out. Welcome to MTT!
Author's Response: And that was your suggestion! Thank you very much for being my beta reader, this oneshot wouldn’t have been as great as it is without you.

Welcome to MTT. Nice job for your first story. Lots of classic JAM banter. You really did a great job of getting into Jim's lovelorn head. It's painfully clear as to why he put in for the transfer when viewed in this light.
Author's Response: Thank you, I really enjoyed writing that part of this oneshot. I always wanted Jim to actually talk about what was the actual reason he transferred. Not just while comforting Dwight in “Money”, though it was a nice scene.

It was so lovely, yet so sad... The part I like the most was when Pam asked Jim how it was not to care about other people's opinions. It was so, so in her character!
I hope you'll write more!
Author's Response: And I will! The people of this archive are so kind, thank you.

Oh poor Jim thinking Pam would never love him back. But suck beautifully written I love this little story.
Author's Response:
He was just a kid, how could he have known she actually did love him? 😔💔
But in all seriousness, thank you!
